Life Through Death Painting Series

Life Through Death Painting Series

This is a painting series that I've been working on for my bedroom. Two of the paintings I have technically done before the first one being the a heart with flowers and the second being a ribcage filled with flowers. I decided when I was going to make a third painting around the same theme that I wanted literally everything to match. So I painted over all of them that way they would look way more uniform. After creating the first painting in the series I decided to name it "Life Through Death." Since all the paintings basically involve items that would be dead with flowers symbolizing life somewhere in the painting.

Is NARS Cruelty-Free?

Is NARS Cruelty-Free?

I had something else planned for today but this needed to be made. NARS has left the cruelty-free world as they have decided to sell in China where animal testing is required. This is a brand that many people for years loved as they had the Orgasm blush that everyone had in their kit. They had some of my favorite products, but unfortunately they have decided to change their policy.

Picking Random Makeup Colors AND Making Them Work Challenge #5

Picking Random Makeup Colors AND Making Them Work Challenge #5

This has to be one of my favorite makeup challenges. And I just received some new eyeshadow brushes in the mail from Luxie Beauty so I thought I would give this challenge another attempt to sort of test out the brushes. I'm not sure my final thoughts on the brushes at this time but I will do a review of them in the future. For this attempt of the "Picking Random Makeup Colors and Making Them Work Challenge" created by Mariah Leonard I decided instead of changing up how I arranged my single eyeshadows in my palette I would just pick three from each side and then make them work. Since one side is more of the neutral colors and the other is the bold colors. That way it's a little more workable. Next time, I'll probably do something different.

History of the Trend: Chokers

History of the Trend: Chokers

For the next article in the history of the trend series, I'm going to be focusing on chokers. This is a fashion accessory that I've been wearing since I was nine years old. And this isn't a new thing that came around within the past few decades. Chokers have been around since ancient civilians used for protection as the neck was considered the most important part of the body. It was only in the late 1800s with Princesses of Wales that the once body armor became a fashion icon.

What's On My Binge Watch List for Netflix

What's On My Binge Watch List for Netflix

I never watch TV when it's on, so there are a lot of shows that I need to watch as well as the ones that are from Netflix. I'm trying to get through all of them but I'm not sure if I can manage that before the next season of everything comes out. But honestly, I sort of love that at the same time because it gives me more to watch since the only way I watch shows is if I binge watch them.

Volume Up | June 2017 Ipsy Glambag

This month's Ipsy Glambag is dedicated to the loud and proud with a lovely pair of lips to remind you to always speak your mind. There is only one of these products that I have tried before which is the Trust Fund Beauty nail polish, otherwise I have never tried any of these products so I don't have any previous experience with these products. I also researched the brands that I've never tried before and reached out to the brands where I couldn't find their policy/stance on animal testing. All brands this month were cruelty free.

Urban Decay Jean-Michel Basquiat Gold Griot & Tenant Palette Review

Urban Decay Jean-Michel Basquiat Gold Griot & Tenant Palette Review

I love the Urban Decay Naked palettes and I saw that they came out with these two palettes inspired by the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The packaging is covered in his artwork which reminds me of urban, neo-expressionism. His art was first rose to popularity in the 80s in NYC,  but his artwork is exhibited all over the world today. Now this collection did face some controversy over how they used as the main model. But I'm not going to go into that for this review, I'm just going to focus on the two palettes: Gold Griot and Tenant. Both palettes cost $39 individually.

Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover Review

Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover Review

Recently I purchased the Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover Dissolving Spray and Lip Balm, but did end up trying it out until yesterday. So I decided instead of just testing it out then later making a video or review that I would film my first impressions. And I honestly was shook testing this out! I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. But I'll let the video speak for itself.

History of the Trend: Dreadlocks

History of the Trend: Dreadlocks

History of the Trend is a series I'm going to be starting on my blog and I don't know how many of these I'm going to do or how long this series will be occurring, but this is something I've wanted to do for a while after a conversion with my roommate. It came about when we talking about dreadlocks which is why I'm going to be starting with this topic. As we were talking about Demi Lovato sporting twists in her hair for her music video No Promise and the Twitter backlash she endured. And I came up with this idea then but was unsure about actually posting it or not as I'm sure this will have its own debate around it. But let's try to keep an open mind and let's drive into the history behind this hair style trend.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Review & Swatches

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Review & Swatches

Over the past week or so I've been testing out the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows. Which for an every day look it's a little much in my opinion as I generally don't wear heavy makeup or bold makeup to my full time job, but to fully test this out I did for an entire week. A few of those looks are on my Instagram. And after a full week of testing the product out, I have my full thoughts and wanted to share them with you!

Asian-themed rooms are becoming quite popular because of one simple reason. They evoke a sense of calm, and people can relax in them after a long and busy day. Human beings can truly rest only when they feel safe and calm, and that’s exactly what a properly designed Asian-inspired room brings.

My Go-To Summer Lips

My Go-To Summer Lips

Though it's June, Minnesota is between Spring and Summer at the moment. And though I'm not personally a huge fan of summer I cannot wait to switch up the lipsticks I'm reaching for. I just like to switch it up every season granted autumn/winter sort of share the same shades typically for me. This past spring I've been doing a lot of brown toned lips or nude lips. And I'm in the mood to switch it up. So here are the shades I'm planning on wearing the most this summer!

Achieving Mermaid Red Hair with oVertone & Arctic Fox

Achieving Mermaid Red Hair with oVertone & Arctic Fox

Now I love Little Mermaid, I used to watch the sequel almost weekly if not daily growing up along with the Lion King. And I've wanted red hair for years, but just never went for it. So when I was going my Instagram Made Me Buy It post/quest, I ended up ordering oVertone Extreme red and fell deeply in love with it. It was like all my childhood dreams had come true. I also felt way more like myself than I ever did with dirty blond hair. After trying oVertone for a full week, I decided I wanted to also try Arctic Fox hairdye in Poison. Plus dye my extensions that I got for free from Irresistible Me. I also cut them so they were a tad bit shorter as they were just too long for my taste after trying them all of last summer.

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick Review & Swatches

One thing that I got a few days ago were some Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks. I've tried one briefly before in the Better Together Collection with Too Faced. So on Memorial Day, I ordered several products and got these three lipsticks for free. The shades I got were Slayer, Motorhead, and Coven.

Photo Diary: Avant Garde Rag Doll Look

Photo Diary: Avant Garde Rag Doll Look

On Thursday for my 100 Days of Makeup, I was going to do a "How I Style" black lipstick with Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic palette... but I realized the day following was going to be on the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette so I would break my theme. Which I am completely in love with, so I decided to hold off on posting that. Then I ended up playing around with my Wolfe Essential water activated face paint and some of my NYX Liquid Eyeliners. To the point where I came up with this look that my roommate, Rose, called a rag doll. OR as she first said when I asked if she could help me with photos, "What did you do?" But let's go with the first one.

Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Contour Palette Review & Swatches

Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Contour Palette Review & Swatches

One brand I love the design of almost everything they come out with but never actually end up purchasing anything from them is Kat Von D. Not because I didn't think the products were worth the price, but just because I don't really shop at Sephora. It's not near me and if I'm going to shop online for makeup it's either Jeffree Star Cosmetics to get another Velour liquid lipstick, ColourPop, or Ulta because I know I get reward points that I can use for future purchases. Which Sephora doesn't have in the same way. But I saw on Kat Von D's website that they were doing a sale that for every $75 purchase you would get three full sized studded lipsticks. So I decided to get two products that then allowed me to get the lipsticks. One of them I've already reviewed in the past as I borrowed it from my roommate, the Alchemist Holographic Palette, and the Shade + Light contour palette. I'll do a review later on this month on the three studded lipsticks that I got from this purchase as I really want to do a dedicated post for that.

Let's Talk About… Painting

Let's Talk About… Painting

If you've been following my blog for a while, you would know that I love painting. My favorite type of paint is acrylic as it's something that I've used the most. Some day I would love to improve my skills with oil paint as it takes longer to dry so it would make painting on large scale a lot easier. But I have not master that skilled to a point where I would be happy sharing any of those paintings. It just doesn't react the way I'm used to.

NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette Review & Swatches

NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette Review & Swatches

NYX is one of those companies where a large majority of my favorite or every day makeup comes from. And one thing that I really wanted to try was the Sweet Cheeks Blush palette granted I know a lot of these shades I will most likely not use for blush unless I'm doing it for a specific look. I got this a little while ago but never got around to actually using it until now. So I thought it would be a great idea to do a review/first impression of it.

BullyMake Subscription Box Review & Unboxing

BullyMake Subscription Box Review & Unboxing

Previously, I had another subscription box for Pixie but every toy was a soft toy and ended up being destroyed in about five minutes. So it didn't seem worth it. I even requested that I get tougher toys and though they were considered tougher toys, she could destroy them in a minute. And I ended up discontinuing my subscription with them. I've been wanting another subscription box for Pixie for quite some time but never found one that I was super excited about until I learned about BullyMake Box. So I decided to give it a go as the box is designed specifically for power chewers like Pitbulls, Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, etc. Though Pixie is not one of these breeds, she chews like one of them.
