Easy Ways to Add a Scandinavian Touch to Your Home

Easy Ways to Add a Scandinavian Touch to Your Home

For the next "Easy Ways to Add a (BLANK) Touch to Your Home" we're going to focus on the Scandinavian style. Which is an extremely popular interior design style of today. The style emerged in the 1950s and draws influence from Scandinavian house and minimalist design. The key features of this style are: no wall to wall carpets, light or muted colors, simple or wood accents, clean lines, decluttered spaces, maximize natural light, simple toys for children, greenery, and cozy textiles. So how do you add these characteristics into your home?

Anti-Haul: Makeup I Won't Be Purchasing #4

Anti-Haul: Makeup I Won't Be Purchasing #4

It's been a little while since my last anti-haul so I thought I would do another one. These are all products brands that were released that I'm just not into, not to drag any brand as almost all of these I have in my collection minus Kylie Cosmetics. These are also just things I don't want in my collection. If any of these items work for you or you want, that is totally fine. These are just things I personally can never see myself getting. Some of these brands I haven't tried before while others are some of my all time favorites.

Irresistible Me Hair Royal Remy Clip-In Hair Extension Review

Irresistible Me Hair Royal Remy Clip-In Hair Extension Review

Around two years ago I got my first set of clip-in hair extensions, but after I got them I completely changed my mind on what hair color I wanted then went down a bleach blond phase followed by a red/wine color. I did cut and dye my extensions for the red but never ended up wearing them as my hair was already long. Plus my hair color was changing so rapidly it didn't seem right to keep adjusting the hair extensions to match it. But as the year drew to a close, I cut off most of my hair and dyed it brown. I cut it short mainly to get back to healthy hair and ends, but I love long hair. So I wanted a set of hair extensions, and I'm not planning on changing to a different color any time soon. Thus the idea of getting hair extensions came back into my mind. And the first place I went to in order to find clip-in hair extensions was Irresistible Me, who sent me my first set originally. And I loved their silky touch extensions. But my hair is really thick and full of volume, so I didn't think that set would look natural. I ended up ordering the Royal Remy set which is supposed to have more volume so the lower half would match my upper half better.

Learning Trust Through Nature: Meerkats

Learning Trust Through Nature: Meerkats

Think of Timon from Disney's The Lion King. He was a meerkat. Meerkats live in the harsh and dangerous conditions of Africa. And live in large underground networks with multiple entrances and as many of forty meerkats living in the colony. They have adopted a very smart survival strategy, which is based on mutual trust. One or more members stand as sentry or lookout for the group, while the rest are foraging or playing. As soon as they spot any danger, they alert the whole colony, which then has enough time to run for safety using the many bolt holes spread across their territory. That same sentry meerkat will be the first to reappear from the burrow and search for predators, and constantly barking to keep the others underground. Once the danger has past, they stop barking to single to everyone else to emerge. The amount of trust the mob places on each other is massive; one slip of alerting the mob can be the difference between life and death, but they still do it with a high rate of success.

Word of the Year...

Word of the Year...

Year after year I see people come up with a "Word of the Year" and every year I can never think of one to make for the year. Mainly as my years never end how I imagine it would. Hell, every time I make a plan for myself, life has some type of way destroying it and pushing my life in some other direction. Or it seems like I'm going through a storm of some type in my life. On Christmas Eve, we went to our church and our pastor spoke on being resilient through everything God puts you through. As he put it, "If you are with God, you're going to be put through hell and back so you need to be resilient to make it through." And this word has stuck with me, so much so that I'm going to be making it the Word of the Year for 2018.

Monochrome Muted/Dusty Pink Get Ready With Me

Monochrome Muted/Dusty Pink Get Ready With Me

I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately trying to decide what I was going to do next. As I don't really have the money to buy new makeup products to review or try out while I'm living at my mom's house waiting for my lease to run out at my previous place. And after watching several Glam & Gore and Kelly Eden videos, it dawned on me that I should just do makeup tutorials or "Get Ready With Me" style videos. You don't see a whole lot of those these days on YouTube and I used to love watching them. So that's exactly what I'm going to start doing more of on my main channel. Just filming myself do my makeup and then doing a voice-over later. I fine that to be the easiest way to do them without the video turning out to be like an hour long.

Easy Ways to Add a Modern Touch to Your Home

Easy Ways to Add a Modern Touch to Your Home

Next in our series of "Easy Ways to Add a (BLANK) Touch to Your Home" I thought we would dive into the modern style since last week we focused on contemporary style last week. The modern style is all about clean, crisp lines with a simple color palette. Making use of metal, glass, and steel materials. Modern design employs a sense of simplicity in every element, including furniture. A word that’s commonly used to describe modern style is sleek, and there is not a lot of clutter or accessories involved with a modern style. Which gives it an almost minimalist appeal.

Makeup Trends From 2017 That Need to Go

Makeup Trends From 2017 That Need to Go

There are always trends of the years and every year some of them don't carry into the following year. A lot of these come from Instagram, which I'm sure they are more meant to be click bait or artist. But then all you see is everyone else starting to do it thinking that how you're supposed to do everything. Half of these things don't look good on anyone but if you enjoy any of these, don't feel the need to stop. But how do you honestly make it work, I don't understand.

Perfect Sugar Cookies for Cookie Cutters

Perfect Sugar Cookies for Cookie Cutters

I meant to post this last week, but didn't get around to it as I was still busy with the holidays. But I still really wanted to post this even though it's a bit late. My family loves making sugar cookies for Christmas and more recently, we've been making them on Christmas or Christmas Eve instead of a week or so in advance. And every year we forget what recipe we used the previous year and end up doing something differently.

My 2018 New Year's Resolutions

My 2018 New Year's Resolutions

I normally hate the idea of resolutions and much more prefer monthly or quarterly goals instead. And the reason I  typically prefer goals over resolutions is, because they typically last as long as the bubbles in the champagne of New Year's eve. But this time I'm actually going to make some resolutions for the year 2018, as there are quite a few things that I want to make happen or change this year. 2017 was probably one of my worst years ever, so the my main resolution is to make 2018 the best or one of the best. So here are all my resolutions:

Morphe Eyeliner & Lip Liner Review and Swatches

Morphe Eyeliner & Lip Liner Review and Swatches

I initially tried out these products when I did my Morphe Dare to Create review, and have been using these liners frequently since then. These liners you can either use as lip liners or eyeliners. Morphe has 70 shades in total and I do not have every single one of them. I have 8 liners in total that I got in a set, but I am planning on getting a few more to add to my collection as I love to have liners for every type of look especially for my waterline. Since I think it looks amazing when this matches my eyeshadows that I smudge under my lashes. This formula is creamy and very pigmented. I don't have any issues with the shades not showing over my eyeshadows as I do with some other pencil liners.

Easy Ways to Add a Contemporary Touch to Your Home

Easy Ways to Add a Contemporary Touch to Your Home

My mom loves contemporary home decor along with mid-century. It's currently one of the more popular home decor style as it's a mixture of modern but more of a today feel to it. So instead of the hold and minimalist look of modern, contemporary interiors are comfortable and welcoming while still keeping to that minimalist approach. Fundamentally, simplicity, subtle sophistication, texture and clean lines help to define contemporary style decorating. Another way of describing it, is emphasizing space rather than things by focusing on color, space, and shape. Which is not my ideal home. But if that describes your ideal home, here are a few ideas of how to bring that contemporary concept into your place.

Life Lately | December 2017

Life Lately | December 2017

This month was been all over the place from work to the holidays. And trying to balance it all seemed like it was going to be impossible at first. Considering I'm also trying to get used to living back at my mom's house and create a new routine around theirs. From when I can film with minimal interruptions, record gaming videos, and just overall do the things I normally did when I lived on my own. And finding that routine wasn't easy considering my sister works retail and my mom travels for work so judging what nights she'll be gone isn't something I've nailed down yet. But I think I figured out my filming set up/location for the time being until I can move out again in May. Cause as much as I love my family and spending time with them, I want my own place.

Learning Empathy Through Nature: Elephants

Learning Empathy Through Nature: Elephants

So after writing "Learning Leadership Through Nature: The Wolf Pack", I really enjoyed writing about that topic and wanted to explore other things we could learn through natures. Thus was born the idea for this series. I'm going to talking about various skills we can learn from various animals. For today's article, we're going to focusing on learning empathy from elephants. There's no animal I can remotely think of that is as empathic as the elephant. We'll also be returning to the elephant later on in this series are there are multiple skills we can learn from them as they are one of the most intelligent animals on the planet. Plus they are very social leading them to act empathetically towards other members of the herd.

Easy Ways to Add a Mid-Century Touch to Your Home

Easy Ways to Add a Mid-Century Touch to Your Home

My mom loves a good mid-century home. It's not my ideal home decor style but I do appreciate it when it's done correctly. So for today's "Easy Ways to Add (BLANK) Touch to Your Home " I thought I would focus on this style. But before we get into how to complete this, what the key features of the mid-century design? It mainly is comprised of low-slung sofas, tapered furniture legs, daring geometrics, and sultry tweed and velvet. The color palette roughly is pumpkin orange, avocado green, and mustard yellow.

Tarte Spice Up Your Stare Deluxe Tarteist Eyeliner Set Review & Swatches

Tarte Spice Up Your Stare Deluxe Tarteist Eyeliner Set Review & Swatches

As much as I love felt tip liquid eyeliners, almost all of them dry up so quickly or I run out of product before the expiration date. So I've been wanting to try some different formulas to see if switching it up would do the trick for me. Plus some of my liquid eyeliners don't show up after I apply them over a glitter shadow, and that lingers to the next application. Then I saw this set of Tarte's eyeliners and decided to give it a go. I have seen Mykie from Glam & Gore use this product in almost any video where she's showing the eyeliner application, so if it works for her maybe it will work for me as well. This formula is supposed to be 12-hour wear, waterproof, creamy, and mess-free. In this set you get four eyeliners and a double-ended eyeliner brush.
