Changing One Day at a Time: End of Week 2 - 90DT

Hello everybody,

Today marks the end of the second week of the 90 Day Transformation. I would not say this was the most successful week in some areas in the challenge, while I was more successful in others.

Diet

I started out the week poorly as I ate out most of the long weekend and on Tuesday when I went back to work. I at least at healthy items though when I ate out. So at least I didn't go for junky fast foods. But the remainder of the week, I brought and prepared my own food.

Fitness

I started out the week strong by taking my dog swimming on Sunday and then for a long walk around Lake Calhoun on Monday during my day off for Labor Day. And the rest of the week, I just aimed at being more active any way I could. Whether that be getting up and stretching my legs at walk by taking a mini walk around the skyways, or doing short workouts while doing different things on my laptop.

I'm even debating on joining a gym or fitness club. But first thing I need to do before I decide that, I need to get a budget in place.

Budget

This sort of went out of the water as on Friday I had my hair dyed and cut, then I bought a bunch of random things that I honestly could've done without but justified at the time as it will help with x, y, or z. But I paid all my bills and technically didn't go over my allocated fun money for the paycheck. But I'm going to need to learn how to better manage my money and curb my spending sprees at the beginning of the month. I just purchased a new book that was recommended to me by a friend who followed the plan in the book to a tee and managed to pay off her college loans in two years. It's called The Total Money Makeover by David Ramsey. Hopefully this will help me as I need to start paying off my own loans and start saving up to move out next August. Yes, I realize it was another unneeded purchase but as I said it was justified in my head that it would help me learn how to actually balance a budget as I never had any classes in high school or college that thought me how to do that.

Misc.

I'm still doing good on the brushing my teeth more often, but I still tend to forget from time to time until I'm half way out of the house and running late as it already is because I failed to do something before I need to leave for work. That leads me start into changing habits in regards to time management. Now this wasn't part of the original goal but probably should've. I need to better manage my time especially now that I'm going to starting online college in a week rather than going in person. To assist with this I got myself a calendar that I can carry around with me in my purse that I'm trying to update as frequency as possible. I'm going including in the calendar what I managed to accomplish in the day that go towards my 90 Day Transformation. The more blue writing the better I did for the day. So this can include filming or recording videos for my YouTube channel, writing posts and scheduling them on my blog/website so there's new content as often as possible, and I'm actually working on the goals I set out for myself. Finding a calendar that started in September was really hard to, I ended up settling for an academic calendar that started in July and ends in June. Hopefully I manage to keep that up as I think it will prove beneficial as I somehow used to find keeping a planner or schedule helped me better plan my days. As I know from work, using a system where I can check off that I completed something helps me plan my day and keep me on track. So here's hoping it helps keep me on track.

There is also a week view in the calendar, which I use to track everything I have going on for that week as well things I've done that day that go towards one of my goals in the 90 Day Transformation. To help myself, blue is anything for work, red is for bills or expenses, purple is items for the 90 day transformation, black is for events that I just have going on, and orange is my volunteer events or church events.

Normally I'm wearing fitness clothes for this, but I figured skinny jeans and a tighter long sleeve t-shirt are the next best thing. Next week I'll be back in my fitness gear!
