Back in December I got the NuMe Silhouette when there was a special on it and have used it every day since. So I thought it was time to invest in a good curling iron. Especially one with a thicker barrel then the one that I currently have which is from the drugstore. When I saw that NuMe was celebrating their five year anniversary and giving away the classic wand on sale I was all for it. Of course I purchased the turquoise one to match my straightener. Typically the curling wand runs at $79.00.
I was a little cautious when I was ordering this as I have medium length hair but after reading enough reviews you can still make it work really well with the thicker barrel. Plus it will work great if my hair ever grows back out.

Testing out the Curling Wand
To be quite honest, I have never used a curling wand before. Only a curling iron that has a clamp or used a straightener as my curling iron. But from testing out the wand, I do find that I get softer waves that spiral more. One thing this does not include is some type of rest so you have to be extremely careful on what you set it down on when you’re ready for it to cool. So investing in a curling iron holder might just be something that I will be doing in the future. As I currently do not own one. For right now my sink counter is good enough and isn’t greatest effected by it.
As for the waves, I love them. I think they look rather playful without being over the top. The only down side I saw for the curling wand is that it only had two options: on and off. You cannot control the temperature. So if I were to get extensions or without thermal protection it could have some negative effects.
