Several months ago I discovered Jeffree Star on YouTube through I believe Mykie from Glam & Gore who introduced me to JKissa who in turn introduced me to Jeffree Star through one of her swatch mixing videos of his liquid lipsticks. And I started watching his videos and really enjoyed them. I don’t know how I completely missed out about him especially when he was huge on MySpace and I thought I was really into following accounts on there. But apparently not.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics is 100% cruelty free and vegan. Which I really appreciate as I’m trying to cut out meat and go for a more vegetarian/vegan diet/lifestyle. In the future, I’m going to get Skin Frosts and the Beauty Killer palette when I save up a bit.
So at Warped Tour, he was going to have a photo session with fans at his makeup booth. I picked up five of the shades, two from the limited edition summer collection and three from the main line. I love liquid lipsticks and really wanted to give these a try. I held off previously because they are a little out of my budget personally, but I’ve heard nothing but amazing things. And I splurge a bit too much by getting the five shades. However, I regret nothing as these are so long wearing and comfortable throughout the day. Unlike many other liquid lipsticks I’ve tried.
At first for the summer shades, the scent completely threw me off. But that was due to separation from being in the sun for several hours, after putting them in the fridge the scent was much more like jolly ranchers. And the chemical scent of (714) is because they didn’t cover up the scent of the natural product, but the scent does vanish after it dries. As for Mannequin and Rose Matter, the scent that I couldn’t place my finger on in the video was Root Beer. I don’t know how I missed that.
I really love the formula of this liquid lipstick, so I definitely want to get more in the future. Of these shades or all the shades Jeffree has come out with, what is your favorite? Or what is your current favorite liquid lipstick?
