Mud Mask Nightly Routine
I have gotten quite a few mud masks sent to me through my monthly subscriptions including two from GLAMGLOW and one from Whish. I've been trying very hard to use them every night after I clean off the day's makeup.
Because I'm a little bit of a history freak, the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra used to use facial masks regularly from egg-whites and black mud from the Dead Sea. Mud was also originally used in the first attempts to cure disease by removing toxins. So the use of mud masks is supposed to help detoxify your pores that fill up with grime throughout your day. They also carry amino acids, bio-minerals, vitamins and plant hormones to help revitalize your skin.
This one is infused with rose hip oil, kaolin from the mud, mucor miehei extract, and bionatural tropical enzymes. It leaves my skin feels super fresh. My skin also looks and feels smooth and brighter after I use this product. This product smells really nice and feels great going onto my face. I was really concerned that my skin would not like this product because I saw several ones say they had issues with it due to sensitive skin. And I did not want to repeat the Biore Charcoal issue I had at the beginning of February. But I didn't have any issues with my skin reacting poorly to this product. Maybe it's because I put my Aloe moisturizer on afterwards like I do every night. I received this one in my February 2016 Birchbox, but the full size is 2 oz and costs $44.
This one at the moment is my favorite of the three as my skin looks healthier and less dry after I use it. As Sephora as a wonderful description already of what the product is made of I'm just going to summarize that as this was not included in my GlossyBox info card. "It is formulated with rare Brazilian yellow clay to help to remineralize the skin, pure green coconut water to immediately boost skin for intense hydration, olive milk rich in olive lipids and proteins to replenish skin, and plumeria flower blossom extract rich in omega 3, 6, and 9 to restore the skin barrier function. Indian gooseberry revitalizes and restores natural skin clarity while TEAOXI® olive leaf powder delivers natural linoleic acid to maintain moisture." I received this one in my February 2016 GlossyBox, the full size is 5 oz and costs $39 and the 1 oz size is $14.
I receive this one from GlossyBox in August 2015 which seems forever ago now. And I don't use it as much anymore since I got the ThirstyCleanse and Whish in February. But this one really helped in the summer to help give me a glow. Which is exactly what I wanted at the time. Sephora already has an amazing description of it so I'm just going to summarize that as I do not have the info card anymore from that GlossyBox and I know some people really want what ingredients are in these products. I'm still learning what they all mean and do, so for now I'm going to refer to an expert. "It is formulated with Brazilian superfruits acai, guarana, and acerola to provide potent antioxidants and flaxseed and quinoa, which are rich in omegas 3, 6, and 9 for stronger, healthier-looking skin. French sea clay revitalizes skin, microalgae scrub and phytic acid extreme gently exfoliate, and TEAOXI® green tea leaf delivers EGCG super antioxidants to protect against free radicals—working with ground ginkgo biloba leaf to optimize the skin’s natural renewal process." The full size like the ThirstyCleanse is $39 and is 5 oz.
