Effortlessly Elegant Box | BirchBox April 2016 Edition
It's that time of the month again where I get all three of my wonderful subscription boxes. I filmed the unboxing of all of these, but will have a separate post for each box for the in depth view at each of them. As I have not used any of these before or in great depth besides merely taking them out of the box and briefly testing them, I am holding off on opinions of the products until that has been done. If I enjoyed them or loathed them, they will most likely end up in my monthly love and loathe.
Speaking of Rifle Paper Co. there is a 20% off coupon included in this box that expires December 31, 2016.
This month for Birchbox I got the special edition box titled "Effortlessly Elegant Box," which included the following items:
PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Volumizing Lifting Spray
I'm pretty sure the last three months I've gotten something from PARLOR. Not that I'm complaining as I end up using the whole thing and purchasing the full size for myself. The full price for a 4.7 oz bottle of the lifting spray that is supposed to give you plenty of volume costs $24.
TOCCA Crema de Mano
This is a hand lotion that comes in five scents and costs $10 for a 2 oz tube. The scents that available are: Bianca (green tea and lemon), Cleopatra (grapefruit and cucumber), Florence (bergamot and gardenia), Giulietta (pink tulip and green apple), and Stella (blood orange). This is only available in travel size which makes it perfect to slip into any purse so you don't have to worry about your hands becoming dry in the middle of the day. The smell for Giulietta is hardly noticeable.
Dr. Jart + Liftra Cream
This is a lifting cream that's supposed to "transform" your face so you would put it in the same location as you would your contour to pull those places back. A full size tube is 51 ml and costs $60.
Laura Gellar Beauty Baked Blush-n-Brighten
There are four different shades of this. And I'm debating on getting them all as I realized I hardly have any blush that's not from a contour palette. Especially as most of those are too dark for my skin tone so I end up looking like a clown. The shades Laura Gellar offers are: golden apricot, pink grapefruit, tropic hues, and roseberry. These would all be the perfect shades for me from the sound of it. One blush does cost $28. But they are a dream to blend and have a light sparkle to give you a luminous look without it coming across as straight up shimmer.
Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Solution
I've been recently getting into actually taking my makeup properly and creating a skin routine. So I was excited to see this listed in the special edition box. As it helps you clean off makeup, cleanse your skin, and soothe irritations. Which my eyes have become since experimenting with different products to find something that works for me. But since it has both aloe and cucumber I'm not worried about this one not doing what it says. If it works out, I'll let you know one way or another in my loves/loathes post at the end of the month. Full size is 10 fl oz and costs $21.
Have you tried any of these products out? If so, what did you think?
