July 2016 Monthly Favorites

This month has just flown by and Minnesota has been a sauna so I haven't been wearing as much makeup as I usually do. So I don't have a lot of new makeup products that I've been loving. But I have a bunch of other things that I really enjoy, from books to video games to TV shows and music. Some of these are things I finished at the tail end of June that I didn’t include in that monthly favorites and others are from the past week.

Beauty

Though I didn't try out a lot of makeup products, nor worn much makeup this month there are a few items that I've been loving. The first being MDSolarSciences SPF 50 Sunscreen, it's so light weight, stays on through sweat and water that it's been perfect during the 100 degree weather we've been having. Though I did get a very bad sunburn, this at least help prevent my face from getting sunburnt as well as I put it on under my foundation. For foundation, I've been loving Almay Smart Shade skintone matching makeup in light. And for a subtle finish of highlight, bronzer, and blush I've been using a three-in-one product from Rimmel London in the shade Golden Sands. As I literally can't go a day without eyeliner, even on almost no makeup days I've been reaching for Thrive Causemetics infinity waterproof eyeliner. Though it does say waterproof, I have not found that to be the case and I have to reapply it a few times throughout the day. But I do love the pigmentation while it lasts. For perfume this month, I've been loving the sample of Catherine Malandrino style de paris and will be purchasing the full size at some point. Though I just got this not even a full week ago, I have been using my Morphe 35O Matte and Shimmer palettes almost every day. These shadows last all day, are not itchy and blend like a dream. And lastly, I've been wearing Jeffree Star Velour Liquid lipsticks every day since I got them.

Book

I love baking so when Tanya Burr came out with a baking book, I just had to have it. So this month I received my pre-ordered Tanya Bakes and it's signed by her! Some of my favorite recipes in the book are: cheesecake & dark chocolate cupcakes, cappuccino cake, and chocolate orange cheesecake.

Video Games

I don't think it's any surprise to say that I've been obsessed with Pokémon Go this month. And I think I've mentioned it enough on here that I'm not going to go in a lot of details. Another game that I've been loving is Sims 4: Dine Out. I've been playing it a bunch in my spare time to learn everything before I start a game series involving it.

Television Shows

On the last day of June, I finished watching both Game of Thrones and Orange is the New Black. Both of their recent seasons, were insanely good. I hear Stranger Things on Netflix is really good so I will be moving onto that series next and will let you know what I think of it.

Music

One of my favorite groups that I discovered on YouTube came out with a new CD a little while ago, but I haven't heard the full album until this month. Plus I got to meet them at Vans Warped Tour where I got to hear them perform live, and got both of their previous two CDs signed. Against the Current's new CD In Our Bones, I only have electronically from Amazon but I listen to it almost every day.
