3 Looks 1 Palette: NYX Modern Dreamer Palette

I love a good colorful eyeshadow look, it doesn’t matter the occasion. I could just be going to work, sitting around the house, or going out somewhere. So, I like to have a variety of colorful eyeshadow palettes in my collection. Since the post on eyeshadow palettes I said goodbye to during the move, I have also gotten rid of around ten additional neutral ones. I’m not going to be doing a post on that, but I thought I would let you all know. In addition to getting rid of those palettes, I have gained an additional one: NYX Modern Dreamer Palette. Which has a lot of variety in eyeshadow colors.

This palette was originally $35, but I got it on sale for $24.50 and it includes 40 shades. With a healthy mixture between warm and cool neutrals to vibrant pops of colors. Since I did get rid of both the James Charles x Morphe artistry palette and the 39A Dare to Create palette, I though this one had a healthy blend of what I had to lose in those palettes (due to space issues). There is also a mixture of matte, satin, and foiled finishes inside of this palette. Basically something for every look. So, today I’m going to be sharing three of the looks I’ve created thus far using the Modern Dreamer palette.

I am debating on getting it’s predecessor Swear By It Shadow Palette which has more grungy and fall inspired tones that would make up the other half of the shadows lost in with the big Morphe palettes. Plus spoiler alert, the formula on the shadows I’ve tried so far from this have been amazing!

Look 1: Sunrise Moment

This look was inspired by the amazingly talented JKissa as I more or less used the same shadows she did to create this look. Since this palette does not have names, I’m not going to go into the instructions for this look purely as I followed along Jkissa. Check out her video if you want to see how to get a similar look. For my lashes, I’m wearing Azeredo Cosmetics Doll Lashes (Use affiliate code: MAE10 for 10% off your purchase on anything from their website). And I have Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Rose Matter on my lips.

Look 2: Butterfly Moment

This look was inspired by @nicoleetait and @bybrookelle on Instagram. I used most of the pink and purple shades in the NYX Modern Dreamer palette along with NYX Epic Ink Liner and ColourPop Creme Gel Liner in Exit. I also have on House of Lashes in Knockout. As for the lips I have Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Calabasas. For highlight though you can’t really see it in the photos I have on Ofra Cosmetics Highlighter in Pillow Talk.

Look 3: Mermaid Moment

This look I created using primarily the teal and green shades in the palette. On this day I didn’t have my contacts in, so the blending isn’t ideal since I literally couldn’t see what I was doing the entire time. But I still liked the end result enough that I wanted to share it in this post. So ignore the terrible blending, it’s not the shadows’ fault. I also have on House of Lashes in Knockout and ColourPop Creme Gel Liner in Electric Daisy.

Love ya,

Thank you! I have experienced that the palettes are not all consistent. Usually the higher priced ones they released I have better experiences with. So their limited edition ones like the In Your Elements or Machinist collections.
