3 Looks 1 Palette & Review of the Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette

I haven’t been interested in a lot of Urban Decay’s latest releases until I saw the Born to Run eyeshadow palette appear on Ulta’s website. All of the colors just call out to me and I can see so many looks coming out of this one palette from every day to glam to grunge. Basically all of the variety I typically go with for my makeup. So I wanted to create a few different looks from this palette.

Description from Urban Decay

When it’s time to grab your carry-on and dash off to the next big adventure, you’ll want to pack light. Enter Born To Run, an all-in-one eyeshadow palette that has everything you need to create neutral looks, add in pops of color and play with brights, no matter where you’re going. With 21 of-the-moment shades – from jewel tones and modern neutrals to more colorful shadows – you’ve got every possible eye look covered in one sleek kit. Made from UD’s mind-blowing formula that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color and blendability, Born To Run’s Eyeshadow shades hold tightly onto pigment that stays put.

Got a conference in Dallas where you need to look like a boss? Create subtle definition with creamy, light neutrals like Breakaway and Weekender en route (using the palette’s full-size mirror, of course). Or, blend Baja, a burnt orange matte, into the lids and smudge Accelerate, a reddish copper metallic, into the crease for a sunset-hued smoky eye that mirrors the view on your road trip through the Mojave Desert. If you’re dancing until daybreak in Prague, put a twist on the traditional cat-eye look and smudge Guilt Trip, a smoky purple shimmer, into the lash line to create an imperfect wing.

Can’t decide which awe-inspiring shade to swipe on next? No matter which shades you try, UD designed them all to be universally flattering for any skin tone and any lifestyle. Whether you’re a total road warrior, a weekend escapist or a staycationer – this one palette has everything you need when you’re Born To Run.

Shade Descriptions

Look #1

I started out by taking the shade weekender all over my eyes then layered up still shot and riff into the crease. Next I built up baja and punk into the outer corner. Then deepened it up with jet and good as gone. Afterwards, I took the shade stranded across my entire lid then blended the dark outer edge with the light rose gold lid with the shade accelerate. My crease wasn’t well blended at that point, so I took some more baja and still shot to blend out the crease so there was a nice transition from the rose gold to the more peach and burnt orange look. Lastly I took baja and punk under my lower lashes then applied some Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara to my top and bottom lashes. For my lips I mixed Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie and ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Cozy for a orange red lip which a slight shimmer from pumpkin pie. I also have on Phyisican Formula butter bronzer, Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Highlighter in Afterglow, and ColourPop Pressed Powder blush in To the 10.

Look #2

Like the previous look, I took the shade weekender all over my lids then I built up the crease with riff. Next, I built out the outer corner with a combination of: good as gone, punk, and jet. Then on my finger, I took the shade smog across my entire lid then on top mixed in some wanderlust on the outer half of my lid then added back in good as gone, punk, and jet to the outer corner to bring back in the depth. On the inner half I took a mixture of blaze and stranded. Then underneath my lower lashes I did the same mixture as the outer corner: good as gone, punk, and jet. Then I applied some eyeliner and mascara. On my lips I put the NYX lip lingerie in Beauty Mark.

Look #3

I started out with the shade breakaway all over my eyes then built up the transition from crease to brow with weekender, still shot, and riff. Then starting in the crease I took a combination of baja, punk, and good as gone. On the lids I decided to go with a halo eye using a combination of ignite and radio. On the outer corner I deepened it up with jet and drift. Under my eyes I used ignite and radio to continue the halo under my eyes. For eyeliner, I used the ColourPop gel liner in over board to keep the cooper going. Then for the lips I’m wearing ColourPop Ultra Satin lip in Stud. Everything else that I have on is basically the same as every other day. I also filmed a get ready with me over on my YouTube channel.
