Last holiday season Anastasia Beverly Hills released the Prism palette. Which includes a variety of neutrals, prismatic metallics, and bold pops of color. The packaging on this palette is a little more luxe compared to the other palettes (maybe not Sultry which is pure glitter). But still it’s not minimalist instead it’s a velvet black with a geometric prism on the cover. So it’s a little more interesting than just the minimal palette name.

This palette like the other velvet packaged palettes from ABH contain 14 shadows each for $42 with 0.02 oz of product making each shade worth $3. Along with a dual-ended brush and a large mirror. I really like the dual-ended brush in this palette, it’s soft and actually does a good job. This is also the last palette of ABH that I had to test out, and I’ll have a comparison of all the palettes up next week.

Thoughts on the Palette

Below is one of the looks I created using almost every shade in the palette, the only ones I didn’t use in this look are the bronze, copper, and truffle shades. But I have used them in a different look so I have tested every shadow. And I love this palette, it has a lot of unique shades to create a wide variety of looks. Which is a lot of fun. I love that even though it was the holiday palette for last year, they still have this palette available on their website. I love that, a lot of brands come out with holiday items but they don’t keep the products around long afterwards. So I’m happy I was able to get this palette as I think I would’ve gotten some FOMO if I hadn’t since this is such a nice palette.

I found the formula of this palette very similar to all of their other palettes. The mattes are velvety, creamy, and easy to blend. There is some kick back in the palette but there isn’t a massive amount of fall out on your cheeks as long as you tap off the brush once before applying to the eyes. You especially get kick back if you accidentally swirl the brush in the pan, just avoid doing that and you won’t deal with a lot of powder going every where. The metallics are also very buttery and shiny though some come across more as glitter than they do as metallics due to flecks in the shadows. But overall, I like ABH’s formula. And will probably continue to purchase every new one that launches.
