Last Sunday, I went with my roommate Harley, to Aamodt’s apple farm on the final apple picking day. The only apples that were available for picking were Haralson, which are winter apples that are perfect for eating, pie, baking, sauce, jelly and freezing. This farm is a great location for families as they have tons of things from wagon rides to train rides, and a bunch of play sets. They also have St. Croix Winery where you can taste different wines and purchase some as well.
Now as it was the final day to go apple picking, everything was very picked over and a lot of the apples were on the ground. So finding good apples was rather difficult but we managed to fill up a small bag full of apples.
Now you don’t have to pick your own apples, you can go into their apple barn and grab some from the crates. Including ones that are no longer in season like the summer apples. As well as a gift shop and bakery. And we really wanted to get like everything! But with a lot of resistant as we still needed to go grocery shopping afterwards, we only got honey butter and apple donuts.
I’m so happy that we were able to go apple picking, because it’s just not fall in Minnesota unless you go pick your own apples for the remainder on the season.
What is your favorite fall activity? Or activity you have to do in order for that season to be complete?
