We’re a quarter way through 2021 already. The world is still closed, but vaccines are on the horizon. I haven’t managed to get one yet as every time I go look to see if there’s an appointment available they’re already booked for the month. So, hopefully, someday I’ll be able to get one. Granted, I’m in my apartment 24/7, so it’s not like I see anyone. Still, I want to get it the moment I can. Since we’re entering another month, I thought I would share my goals for this month and revisit the ones I made for the previous month.
March 2021 Goals Revisited
I ended up only reading A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas series. I got in a bit of a book hangover when I finished A Court of Silver Flames, so the only thing I managed to read was that series over again twice.
Writing I had a goal of getting to 25K words, but I only managed to get to 20K which is still good progress. I ended up doing more world-building so I had to revisit some things. Mostly where I wanted the twist to happen. I had been debating on revealing that piece of information on one side sooner but decided against it to give it more of a surprise. I think that will help make it stronger in the end, so I’m happy with it.
For Twitch, I managed to stream three to four times a week. Well, all but this week. But I’ve been having a lot of fun with it and that was my main goal with Twitch for the month. Just enjoy playing games and streaming whatever I’m in the mood for. I decided to add on (for a semi-regular basis) Sunday streams which are shorter but aren’t specifically gaming-related. They’re going to be art, makeup, etc. streams. Basically, when I plan to do creative streams.
While it wasn’t a goal for March, I made more merch which is largely based around my art and particularly around Twitch. Some things are just quotes I muttered on Twitch that stuck out for one reason or another. I might release some more things on there in April. I’m not going any formal launches for the stuff, but it is available.
April 2021 Goals
I have a feeling it’s going to be another month of a book hangover. Mainly as A Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout comes on this month, and I have it pre-ordered. So, my goal is just to finish reading Lightbringer by Claire Legrand (the final book in The Empirium Trilogy) as I’m a good portion into the book. To be completely honest, I have already read sections of the ending as I flipped to see how the series ends. I know, for shame, but I couldn’t help it. I was curious, and honestly, I think that might be what’s causing me not to be able to re-pick up that book to finish it for real. It’s not bad… it’s just I know now. I don’t know. I’ll talk about it in that post once I complete it.
Work is going to be hectic this month as we’re planning basically two massive migration projects, so that might cut into streaming depending on how involved I’m going to be. Right now both are still in the staging phase, but the second it leaves that it’s everything is moving immediately. Which is… lovely. So, I’m not going to make any major Twitch or writing plans this month. Because I don’t want to set myself up for failure. Whatever I manage to do will be good enough.
The other thing that I am planning for the month is working out doing a boxing exercise thing on the Switch at least every other day. Is it proper boxing? Not really, since I’m holding remotes and no one really can tell me if I’m doing things wrong. Which I feel like I am, as my back muscles are killing me, some days it’s worse than others. Last night, I whimpered trying to lift an empty cardboard box. Pathetic honestly. But that could also just be because I’m so freaking out of shape. So, my goal is just to keep at it as I do enjoy it. Plus, I need to get in shape.
What are your goals for April or 2021?
Love ya,
Mae Polzine
