When I was growing up one of my favorite things was astrology. In the third grade, I wanted to study the stars and go to the moon. Every night I would go outside and look at the constellations then ask my father a million questions about them. Now while I don’t believe certain star positions or moon phases effect people, I will admit there is a correlation that can happen. Like when I worked at a pet hotel, there was a strong relationship to a full moon causing all of the dogs in camp to go crazy. Or just weird behaviors to come out when the moon was full. And while I don’t agree with everything my zodiac sign states about me, when combined with my moon sign and rising or sun sign it kind of all just describes me to a tee. So I thought I would share that today.
I was born on May 15, 1993 in between the 3rd shift and 1st shift in Minneapolis, MN. Thus making me a Taurus for my zodiac sign. Now to find your sun, rising, or ascendant sign (as it goes by several different names) by taking the exact date, time, and location you were born to calculate the sign. This is similar for your moon or descending sign. I would recommend using an online calculator to find the exact sign. My ascending sign is Gemini if I have the time right (I’m used an estimate of 6:30 AM since that’s typically inbetween the two shifts and my baby book with that info is in a storage unit at the moment) and my moon sign is Pisces.
Zodiac Sign: Taurus
Taurus is an earth sign like Virgo and Capricorn so typically individuals with this sign are grounded, practical, and realistic. They are also the most reliable sign, ready to endure and stick to their choices until they reach the point of personal satisfaction. This is often seen as stubbornness. But they just want to see a project through to the end no matter what it takes. This makes them excellent employees, great long-term friends and partners, always being there for people they love. Earthly note makes them overprotective, conservative, or materialistic at times, with views of the world founded on their love of money and wealth. They are loyal and don’t like sudden changes, criticism or the chase of guilt people are often prone to, being somewhat dependable on other people and emotions they seem to be unable to let go of. Still, no matter their potential emotional challenge, these individuals have the ability to bring a practical voice of reason in any chaotic and unhealthy situation. This is also due to their ruler as Venus the Roman goddess of love, attraction, beauty, satisfaction, creativity and gratitude.
Now the symbol of Taurus, if you weren’t aware, is the wandering bull. Specifically the one in Greek mythology that betrayed the goddess Hera causing it to be stuck on Earth in order to find freedom. As if something was always poking them behind their back, reminding them of happiness that once was, stinging and pushing forwards, they close up in their own worlds, lonely and separated from their core. Thus meaning that a Taurus according to mythology has to travel the world, change perspective, or make a shift in their entire belief system to find love. And in a way this makes me laugh as I consider myself asexual or demisexual as I’m not really aroused by anything. So that’s pretty spot on.
However, a Taurus also want to be surrounded by love and beauty often turning to the material world. Which is pretty spot on as I want to be loved though I don’t find myself in love with others to the same extent they are with me.
All of this screams very true to me. And makes me laugh when I look at the traits of this Zodiac sign since I’m also Bipolar. So you know not really stable in the mental department. But we’ll get into that more with my sun and moon sign, which I think that’s where it may have come from.
Rising Sign: Gemini
Most people consider your sun or ascendant sign to effect your personality in combination with your Zodiac sign. Gemini is an air sign with the ruling planet of Mercury, meaning positions of this planet will greatly affect you. So when the planet is in retrograde, you best believe everything will just seem to go wrong. The last few retrogrades the following happened: massive fall out with my roommate, all of my car tires dead, and sprained my ankle. Now astrologists claim it does not affect you, but there’s just a correlation there that’s it’s a little hard to ignore.
Ascendant Gemini have a strong sense of curiosity towards the environment and everything going on around them that it might come across as superficial. But really they just want a closer look at everything and be independent. Often finding commitments to be hard. Now I don’t really have an issue with commitments and that’s probably due to my Zodiac sign being a Taurus, but I find it hard to personally set due dates on things unless someone else specifically wants a set date for something.
Now most places I’ve researched will say Ascendant Gemini have a strong interest in companions and are very communicative. I’m however very shy and introverted so I don’t know if that one really rings true with me. But I do agree with the claims of being witty, clever, active mentally, high-strung, temperamental, nervous or anxious, and always ready for something different. You may appear confident, but you can lack self-confidence and inner sureness. You love to talk, both with your mouth as well as your hands. And that’s from the twins of Gemini being so different from one another. It’s like the two sides are battling it out… kind of like my moods with my Bipolar Disorder.
They are often seen as the jack of all trades and master of none. Which is so insanely true, I love painting, snowboarding, writing, makeup, and computers but I wouldn’t call myself an expert in any of them.
Strengths of Rising Sign Gemini:
Intellectual, practical, inquisitive, literate, sophisticated, open-minded, perceptive, versatile, communicative, quick, curious and decent.
Weaknesses of Rising Sign Gemini:
Nervous, volatile, restless, dualistic, undetermined, undecided, intrusive, superficial, arrogant, solitary, scheming and vain.
Moon Sign: Pisces
As I mentioned earlier, the moon sign greatly effects your emotions. From your unconscious and instinctive reactions to the world around you. As well as what kind of experiences you need in order to feel emotionally satisfied. A Pisces is a water sign which point to the tides of life and emotions. Meaning you just want to feel “at one” with everything going on in your life and with yourself.
Pisces are sensitive, impressionable, empathetic, and often extremely emotional with those emotions often controlling them leading them to cry or laugh often. If you’ve read my most recent mascara reviews since I’ve been trying out a few different ones, you’ll know I cry over TV shows and movies a lot. And I laugh easily at the most random things at times, often an almost silent laugh with tears streaming down my face. I also take on other people’s emotion insanely easily. Which is tough especially if I want to be there for a friend going through a tough time, I often find myself stuck straight into a depressive episode that can last for weeks after that interaction. And as much as I try to guard myself against it, I can’t control it so this often drains me emotionally. Which is common with this moon sign since Pisces often have a problem with restricting emotions. So you have to be a bit careful with who you allow into your life. ‘Cause their emotions will become your emotions, so avoiding toxic situations is something you learn to deal with so you don’t in turn become toxic in return.
Pisces Moon also are very creative and find inspiration at every bend of the riverbank… sorry was listening to Pocahontas when I was writing this but it works.
I also find it a tad bit funny that my signs are basically all but fire. I love walking in the woods when there’s a lake or creek nearby as wind is blowing through the trees. I find it so relaxing. And basically that scenario is all of my signs’ elements combined. And while I do love fire, it’s just not something that calls to me as much as earth and water does. Though I do need a good breeze in there as well. Anyways… What is your zodiac, rising, and moon sign?
Love ya,
