I haven’t done a beauty review in ages, almost as I have been “good” about not getting new products during quarantine. Granted, my sister has gotten me almost every ColourPop eyeshadow palette release. But there’s only so many times I can review ColourPop palettes without sounding repetitive, since the formula is the same in every one.
Anyways, Samantha Ravndahl released a new branded called Auric. I love watching her videos over on YouTube. So far they have only released two products: Glow Lust Radiant Luminizer and Smoke Reflect Eye Shadow Duo. And I wanted to try it out as I’ve been into more minimal product makeup routines as of late. And these seemed like products that would be right up my alley.
Glow Lust Radiant Luminizer
The Glow Lust Radiant Luminizer comes in seven shades ranging from deep to light, each named with a type of precious stone. The one I ended up going with was Morganite as it’s the light cool beige shade highlighter. Each bottle costs $45 and has 35ML / 1.18 FL OZ of product. The luminizers are: glitter free, fragrance free, paraben free, cruelty free, and gluten free.
For those who lust for luminosity.
Highlight • Smooth • Hydrate
Packed with ultra-fine pearl and a skin-loving mix of squalane, glycerin and porcelain flower, this artistry-grade, adjustable formula gives you instant radiance and hydration. It can be worn alone, blended with your favorite skincare or used as a highlighter on top of foundation.
Auric recommends the following usage:
Apply to clean skin or mix with your favorite skincare product for an all-over sheer glow.
Blend 1-2 pumps with your favorite complexion product for a boost of radiance and more coverage.
For highlighted luminosity, apply to the tops of the cheekbones, the temples and a little bit on the bridge of the nose.
Can also be worn on neck and décolleté for a sexy glow.
You don’t need a lot of product to get that glow from within look on the skin. I barely pump out a pea size dot and that’s enough for my cheek bones and nose. The pump makes it easy to do quarter pumps to half pumps, so you can apply smaller amounts without ending up wasting product. Which I appreciate since I don’t use that full pump amount as I have yet to try mixing this into my foundation or skincare to give my skin an overall natural glow look.
Smoke Reflect Eye Shadow Duo
I have in the past shied away from cream shadow as they dry out before I get the chance to use them. But I really wanted to try these out. And was only able to get my hands on two of them: ego (silver) and temper (rose gold). There’s also a third called defiance which is a bronze gold shade.
A smokeshow in a jar.
Heads will turn with these eye catching shadow duos.
Create creamy-matte, or metallic-glitter looks with two luxe formulas (in a single gorgeous package). Under the top lid is a light-reflecting, micro-glitter eyeshadow infused with high-shine pearls. Inside the glass is a smooth, longwear, creaseless cream shadow.
Each shadow has 1.65 G / 0.058 OZ of powder product and 5 G / 0.176 OZ of the cream product. They cost $39 each. And each of these these shadows are: paraben free, cruelty free, gluten free, and artistry-grade.
Auric recommends the following usage with these shadows:
- Open lid to find the light-enhancing shimmer powder + mirror.
- Swipe glitter onto your primed lid for a soft focus metallic look or dab over the cream shadow for a striking, seductive look.
- Twist off upper tier to reveal the ultra-pigmented, metallic cream shadow.
- Use your fingers for an easy, effortless wash of smooth pigment or use a brush for a more precise, smoky look.
- Let the formulas do the work for you. They’re the easiest way to have sexy and unforgettable eyes.
Below is a look I did using just the powder shade of temper in the center of my lid with ColourPop Big Poppy palette for the rest of the look, and Morganite as my highlighter.
Normally I use just the cream shadow with the powder on top, and haven’t noticed any creasing from the cream base. And I’ve used these almost every single day since I received my order. Yes, the products are on the more expensive end but they have good quality packaging, and the products work really well. I can’t wait to see what else Auric Cosmetics releases in the future as I usually love Samantha’s recommendations.
