When this foundation was first announced, this foundation didn’t call to me. And mainly it was the horrible skin tone range, they initially released 32 shades but was heavily focused on just the medium skin range. The darker tones had weird undertones including one that looked almost orange. But since then they have released an additional 8 shades to balance out the range. A lot of people raved about the formula and I ended up picking up one. I got the shade 1.20 which is the light with cool undertones.
The BeautyBlender bounce foundation has a velveteen-matte finish that’s supposed to last for 24 hours on the skin. Give you full coverage and work on normal, dry, or combination skin types. Which works for me as my skin is normal to dry. This foundation is supposed to be free of mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban, gluten and fragrance. And contains hyaluronic acid to promote moisture and give your skin a smooth surface, as well as white birch extract to soothe and brighten your skin.
The bounce foundation costs $40 for the standard 1.0 fl oz or 30 ml of product. You can find this product at Sephora or on their website.
I have been testing out and using the foundation for the last week or so. Before we get into the day I did the wear test I wanted to go over the packaging of this foundation. This bottle does contain a pump that has a locking function so it doesn’t accidentally go off in your storage. However, you need to pump it at a specific angle or it will go back down on the inner gap under the pump. Even then some of the foundation pools or gets caught there meaning each pump there is some wasted product. The side of the bottle can be used a tray versus the back of your hand. While this is handy and innovative, it’s dirty and unsanitary unless you clean it up before and after each use of the foundation.
Here is how the foundation looks on me after initially applied:
After applying the foundation it was around 10:30 AM, then I enjoyed my day including getting ahead on the blog for once in a few weeks. Taking the dogs for a walk in the bitter cold windshield that rolled in for the weekend. And went to play Bingo with my mom, where we ended up splitting appetizers and got close to winning Bingo every board by one number but never quite getting that lucky Bingo.
Here is the foundation at hour 6.5 also known as 5 PM, still looking almost identical to how it did when I first applied my makeup the only difference being my highlight isn’t as intense and my lips are more faded:
Shortly after my 6.5 hour update, I took off my false lashes as one of them was already popping off due to the wind from the dog walk earlier in the day. Plus I was going anywhere the rest of that night so having false lashes on just wasn’t needed anymore. Then I just watched Shadowhunters for the rest of the day so not much really happened to effect the foundation.
Above is how the foundation looked at the 8.5-9 hour mark. Which was also the end of me wearing the foundation as I wanted to shower and just put pajamas on to continue watching Shadowhunters in bed. My makeup still looked flawless like when I first applied it. I don’t see any noticeable wear around my face. It didn’t settle into any fair lines, crack, or reveal any dry patches on my face. I’ve worn the foundation longer too and experienced similar findings where it just looks great. I think I might have just found my new favorite foundations. I honestly can’t say with other foundations even with an amazing primer it didn’t start to vanish in places at the eight hour mark. Or need a touch up during the day, but the BeautyBlender Bounce Foundation didn’t need that once.
