Bird Box Inspired Makeup using Juvia’s Place The Warrior II Palette

I’ll be 100% honest I have not seen Bird Box on Netflix just a few plot breakdowns. It looks pretty cool and I was inspired to do this look… since you know everyone is doing a look inspired by this movie. And honestly every version exists on Instagram involving this idea so I just wanted to do my own take of a look I saw the amazingly talented keilidhmua created over on Instagram.

Here is her original version of the look:

However I did tweak it a little to make my own version so instead of colorful, I went with the color tones from the Juvia’s Place Warrior II Palette as I just got it to complete out the collection. If I were to do this again I would’ve done the color palette of the humming birds I have tattooed on my collar bone. But I really wanted to use this palette for a post and didn’t want it to be a review. I’m a little sick of writing reviews at the moment and being creative with makeup is just what I did to do to rediscover my love… and inspiration for the blog. I did end of using every single shadow in the palette and did not have any issues with the palette.

I was going to do the splatter effects to be close to the original image since I wasn’t in the mood to do the music notes as I don’t have that great of a detailed brush. And really should just get a liquid white eyeliner. But I just couldn’t get the right effect without ruining the look so I opted just to skip that part. I also moved the birds so my tattoo wouldn’t be in every photo since it just doesn’t match the style of the rest of the look. You can still see the humming birds in a few photos.

Other products I used to create this look were:

  • NYX Epic Ink Liner
  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Medusa
  • Essence Volume Stylist Curl & Hold Mascara
  • Ardell Studio Effects Pro-Designed Layered Lashes in Demi Wispies.
  • Water activated paints: orange, brown, and grey.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse in Rich Brown

Should I actually watch Bird Box or is it not honestly worth all of the hype?

Love ya,

It’s great, thanks for your sharing. Her image is like a wonderful work of art. The way you paint those pictures of birds is not only beautiful, but I feel so real and alive. I hope to see your talent in more works like this.
