Break Down of the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Summer 2019 Collection

I don’t go for every release from Jeffree Star Cosmetics as a lot of launches are just things I would not go for or need, but this one just drew me in though I did not get every single product that came in the collection. For a few reasons: 1) I don’t need that much makeup, 2) I would never use 75% of it, and 3) my bank account would kill me. But I did end up going with the Jawbreaker palette, Mini Breaker palette, and the Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Fully Nude and Strawberry Crush.

I’m not doing a review of the collection at the moment, as I need to play with it a lot more before I get into that. So this is just a brief breakdown or overview of the collection that I ended up getting today. I’m probably going to do something similar to what I did with the Blood Sugar Palette where I made multiple posts revolving around the palettes. Meaning at the moment I’m thinking about doing the following: a 3 Looks 1 Palette with each of the palettes, a swatches post, and a final thoughts post over the course of the next week or so. Though it might take a few weeks for me to make all of these posts considering I’m in the process of moving.

Jawbreaker Palette

The Jawbreaker palette is the biggest palette that Jeffree Star has released as it includes 24 shades and costs $58.00. Or $75.00 if you get it in the bundle with the Mini Breaker palette though there are two shades repeated between the two palettes. The palette does not match the packaging as it comes in a white jawbreaker patterned packaging, but is a pink palette. 12 of the 24 shades are pressed pigments meaning they are not eye safe.

Mini Breaker Palette

The smallest palette Jeffree Star has released as it’s only nine shadows and two of the shades are identical to ones in the bigger Jawbreaker palette with six out of the nine shades being pressed pigments so they are not eye safe. If you want to know more about the difference between pressed pigments and shadows, check out this article that I did before on the topic. Anyways the Mini Breaker Palette costs $28.00. Though I got it in the bundle with the Jawbreaker Palette so it was $75.00 for both palettes. I kind of wish the palette matched the chartreuse outer packaging that it came in, but the white makes it look more like a true Jawbreaker.

Velour Liquid Lipsticks

Each velour liquid lipstick is $18 and contain 0.19 oz of product. The two shades I ended up getting were Strawberry Crush which is a neon strawberry red and Fully Nude which is a warm peachy nude. Both of these shades I could see myself living in a bunch during the summer and during other seasons as well. Plus I love the formula of the velour liquid lipsticks and generally have one of these in my backpack that I take with me to work every single day.
