My Thoughts on The Broken Kingdom Series by LJ Andrews

My Thoughts on The Broken Kingdom Series by LJ Andrews

I love a good retelling or adaptation of classic folklore. This series by LJ Andrews is going to be broken into four parts. The first is Beauty and the Beast (books 1-3), the second is Cinderella (books 4-6), the third is Swan Princess (books 7-8), and the last is the Phantom of the Opera (9). This series is finished! The last book does have all four tales collide together for a grand finale. While the series are separate, they occur in the same world and are interconnected. So, you can read the Cinderella books first, but it is recommended that you read them in the order they were published. Particularly since characters are introduced in the first book and their stories build on what happened in the previous ones. The whole series is part Viking, part folklore, with Fae and magic.…

My Thoughts on The Ever King (The Ever Seas, Book 1) by LJ Andrews

My Thoughts on The Ever King (The Ever Seas, Book 1) by LJ Andrews

The Ever King by LJ Andrews is the first novel in the Ever Seas series, a Broken Kingdom spin-off series that takes place twenty years after the events of Dance of Kings and Thieves (the sixth book in the Broken Kingdom series). It follows Erik Bloodsinger, the Ever King, as he attempts to retake the mantle that Valen won from the previous Ever King, and Livia, Valen and Elise Fergus' daughter. You do not need to read the Broken Kingdom series to understand what is happening in this book, but it does spoil a few things.…

Taylor Swift Eras Book Tag

Taylor Swift Eras Book Tag

This was a tag created on Instagram by lizzyy.reads, but because I don't use Instagram for book sharing, I decided to blog the tag instead. I've stated before that I enjoy Taylor Swift, but I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with her. Having said that, I listen to several of her songs on repeat. And I thought the concept of Eras in book form was intriguing. To be honest, I'm amazed I have one for each of these. I'll get into that as I discuss each of the Eras books.…

Tour of My Library

Tour of My Library

I asked on Twitter, Threads, and Discord if I should post a tour of my bookcases (also known as my library), and the response was overwhelmingly 'yes.' I haven't counted how many books I have since June 2022, but I believe I have around 300 physical books. Perhaps more. Given this, I'm not going to go over every single book on my shelves as they appear in this tour, but I will go through the general layout of my shelves. Granted, these will very certainly be changed as I acquire additional books in the future in order to keep books by the same author together.…

Authors Who I Consider Auto-Buy (Read Everything That’s Released)

Authors Who I Consider Auto-Buy (Read Everything That’s Released)

There aren't many authors who I would read everything they publish. Either because I'm not interested in all of their concepts or because I'm only interested in specific universes. Or they have way too many series, so I pick and choose which one I'm going to read. And then, there are other authors who I have read everything they have released, but because they just have one series or world that they have been writing in. So, I can't say if I would be interested in their other works outside of that realm. But they've published enough where I would be confident in anything else they publish.…

Video Games I Have Spent the Most Time Playing

Video Games I Have Spent the Most Time Playing

I saw this idea from Angelika Oles and thought it would be a fun idea. Most of the games featured on this list are my all-time favorite games. By no means is this every game I've ever played or the true total amount. As I've switched computers several times over the years, and the Nintendo Switch gives a rough estimate with only 20 games displayed. One of the games on this list wasn't displayed but I based the time on how long the game takes on average. If I had the stats for how much time I played The Sims 2 and 3 those would be on here too, but sadly I don't know the answer to that as I played on my dad's laptop and a computer I left behind years ago. Plus, those were played on physical disks so I don't have those stats. I also grouped games of a series together as I feel that gives a more accurate portrayal of the time I spent in those worlds.…

My Thoughts on The War of Lost Hearts Series by Carissa Broadbent

My Thoughts on The War of Lost Hearts Series by Carissa Broadbent

The War of Lost Hearts by Carissa Broadbent is a trilogy which has been compared to Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. Which is a series I absolutely loved, so I was a little nervous to read this series. Because either I was going to lose interest if it was too similar to Throne of Glass or would spend too much time comparing the two instead of enjoying it. But I thoroughly enjoyed the Nightborn Duet from Carissa Broadbent, so I decided to finally give this series as try. Instead of doing a review for each book I'm going to combine them in one. I'll try to avoid sharing too many spoilers, but I will be discussing the full series.…

My Thoughts on Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

My Thoughts on Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

I've been following Hannah Nicole Maehrer's Assistant to the Villain series on TikTok since it began, so I was thrilled to see it made into a book series. I expected it to be on the cozy side of fantasy rather than the epic side (lighthearted vs. in-depth). And, while I don't read a lot of cozy fantasy or rom-com books, I was ready to give this one a shot because I enjoy the TikTok series so much. I haven't done a thorough review in ages. Usually, I just offer my overall thoughts on the book and leave it at that. But I feel the need to break this book down more in order to¬†share my opinions accurately.…

With These Last Breaths (Aisling Sea, Book 3) by Vanessa Rasanen

With These Last Breaths (Aisling Sea, Book 3) by Vanessa Rasanen

With These Last Breaths by Vanessa Rasanen is the final book in the Aisling Sea trilogy; however, not the final book in this world as this author plans on having a new series called Immortal Reveries that takes place in this world, which will be a collection of interconnected stand-alones. But it will take place beyond the Aisling Sea, as the conflict here has been resolved, and the main characters are setting out in different directions.…

My Thoughts On A Duet with the Siren Duke (Married to Magic, Book 4) By Elise Kova

My Thoughts On A Duet with the Siren Duke (Married to Magic, Book 4) By Elise Kova

A Duet with the Siren Duke is the fourth book in the Married to Magic series by Elise Kova. It is standalone, so you can read this book without reading the others in the series. Each book is inspired by a classic fairy tale; this one was inspired by the Little Mermaid. Only he's the mermaid, or rather siren, and she's a ship captain. Granted, she wasn't a ship captain when they met. And the tale takes on a life of it's own like most of the books in the series do.…
