I decided to follow a Bob Ross tutorial digitally today on stream. But to give myself more of a challenge, I was only allowed to use “weird” brushes. So, not your typical flat brush, oil paint, or line brushes. I had to use the artistic ones. Those that have weird textures or designs. This also went for any smudging or blending that I had to do. In addition, to keep with the traditional style art I could only use one layer. The tutorial I ended up following was Tropical Seascape from Season 12 Episode 9 of The Joy of Painting.
I haven’t done a makeup photo diary or post in a while. I’ve done creative makeup looks for Caturday (a thing I do every Saturday with two of my streaming friends: Foxtail and Cassii over on Twitch), but I just haven’t made specific posts about them. Sometimes I don’t remember to post them on Instagram though the most of them are. But this one is just creative makeup for the sake of creative makeup. I wasn’t trying to do it for anything. I was just in the mood and picked one of the looks I had in my Inspo folder. This pastel rainbow clown look inspired by @yannalinnaa and @jamescharles.
Now before I begin this post, I want to state, I have not received any of these items in person yet. Some of them are not coming until the beginning to mid-August. So, the pictures are from Amazon and HOM Furniture where I got the pieces. But I’m really excited about this fact and since I’m blogging every day this month, I thought this was a great time to talk about it. Especially since this week’s theme seems to be “exploring new things.” And purchasing my own furniture would count as that. I don’t know if this theme will continue for the rest of the week, but might as well continue with it.
I’m blogging all month long, every single day I’m going to be writing something new. There isn’t really a theme or anything. Sometimes it might be about books, shows, beauty, or life. It’s really just going to be whatever I’m in the mood to write about that day. And today, I thought I would start off with something personal. As I did something for real, for the first time, and it’s literally the only thing I can think about writing about at the moment. Honestly, I’m not even sure if I should as I feel almost embarrassed talking about it, but it’s a natural thing that happens in life and I don’t know maybe someone out there can relate.
It’s finally here. Moving month! I’m leaving the apartment I’ve been in for the last two years and going to a two-bedroom apartment within the same building that checks off all the boxes. I’m really excited to move in, but at the same time, nervous/stressed because I’m moving. No matter if it’s not a major move, it’s still a change. But I’m going to have sunlight, better outdoor access for Pixie, an area for work/streaming since I do that from home, and other things I’m looking forward to. Granted, it’s happening at the end of the month but still, this month is largely going to be focused on moving.
I’ve been pretty good about not buying every new ColourPop release. Granted, my sister has still been very generous in ordering them for me as surprises lately. Not every release but a fair amount of the eyeshadow palettes. Not all of them I have used or reached for a lot. But there are two lately that have stood out mainly as they’ve been sitting out and I’ve worn them almost every day since I received them. Those palettes being the Lust for Dusk and So Very Lovely.
