This is a concept I got from Cleia, which I’ve had in my “‘post ideas” list forever but never ended up doing. And recently I’ve been using Dominique Cosmetics Latte Palette for my everyday makeup. So, I thought it was finally time to compare this palette with the Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Dream St. Palette.
For the most part, these palettes look very similar, though I would not consider them dupes of each other. For starters, some of the comparisons for the shades are a combination of two tot make it close. But on the eyes, they come of almost identical. On the top for swatches is the Dominique Cosmetics Latte Palette, and on the bottom for swatches is the Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Dream St. Palette.

Bottom (Left to Right): Spark, Water Bearer, Twinkle, Sweet Dreams, Mermaid Boy/Kaleidoscope, Magical, Elfish, Moony, Shooting Star, and Potion.

Can You Tell Which Side is Which Palette?
The left eye in the photos is Dominique Cosmetics Latte Palette and the right is Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Dream St. Palette. Did you get it right? I had to go back and reference my brows because I couldn’t for the life of me from the picture tell which eye was which. But I know which one I did each palette on as I left the palettes in that order for when I got around to writing this up for the blog.
So, if you want to save a buck the Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Dream St. Palette is $20, while the Dominique Cosmetics Latte Palette is $42. But you can get very similar looks. Though there are some differences.

Love ya,

I love that you did this comparison!! It never occurred to me that these palettes were similar until someone commented on an ig post that I should compare them. It was really surprising how similar they are. I love the eye look, I wouldn’t have known that each eye was done with a different palette unless you told me. The metallic from the DC palette is just a tad more foiled looking, but other than that they look identical!!

Agreed. From looking at the pans they look different but when applying on the eyes you can’t tell them apart save for the metallics as you mentioned. There are only two shades that don’t line but one of them if you mix two metallics you get something almost similar though it’s slightly more teal.

I have no regrets buying both palettes though! I love them both 🙂

Same I thought I would since the swatches are slightly different but when you do the look it literally just reads the same.
