CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation Review & Wear Test

Advertisements

This year I’m on a extremely low buy only getting new things when I have to. And while I have a lot of different foundation formulas, I finished off three of my foundations off. So as a replacement I decided to go with one RawBeautyKristi recommended from CoverGirl. That being the Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation, which I have never tried since previously they were not cruelty free. But they are now so I wanted to give this one a go.

Overview of CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation

Apparently this foundation is infused with vitamins and antioxidants to help give you a luminous glow and minimizing the appearance of oily shine. I picked this foundation up from Walgreens where it was $12 and the lightest shade I could find was Ivory (705) which is more a light shade instead of fair. So it is not skin tone but I can make it work using some light concealer. The formula is a buildable coverage so it can be medium to full coverage depending on the amount you use. There is also SPF 20 to help protect your skin against the sun. It’s also fairly lightweight as I barely feel it throughout the day.

The shade range for this foundation is horrible. There are only seven shades ranging from light to deep, but it looks like there is only one deep shade and the rest are light-medium to medium tones. I’m fair and while I can make Ivory work using a lot of concealer to lighten up the center of my face, I shouldn’t have to. No one should have to work that hard to make a foundation shade work for them. Honestly, I’m probably going to give it to my sister as she’s not as fair as me. Not cause I don’t like the foundation but just due to the fact it isn’t my shade.

Foundation immediately after application.

Here is how the foundation looks after seven hours. You can start seeing the foundation break down around my face, but ultimately still looks alright.

Here is how the foundation looks after ten hours. My glasses have wore away the foundation from my nose. And coverage was broken down around my face as my acne is way more apparent. Considering the foundation has been on my face for ten hours, I’m not going to fault the foundation for that. Plus it’s not super obvious unless you look super up close to my face. Though a lot of the rest of my makeup has fallen apart over the course of the day.

Have you guys tried out this foundation? What do you think of it? Or does CoverGirl have any products you love I would love to try more now that they are cruelty free.

Love ya,
