The other night I caved in and decided to order a bunch of E.LF. products. I didn’t have enough types of items to do a one brand tutorial, and I wasn’t really feeling a haul video/post so instead for a few of the products I’m doing individual posts on them. So for this post I’m going to share my thoughts on the quad-powder palettes. They are not actually called that. They’re just the bronzer, contour, and illuminating palettes. Each palette is only $6 which is a very nice price for these since you get four nice size pans and a quality mirror on the inside. These palettes are cruelty free and vegan.

Bronzer Palette – Bronze Beauty

I’ve been on the hunt for a good bronzer and when I saw this on Ulta, I decided I would give it a go. Each of these bronzers are soft and not over chalky; however you do have to spend a bit of time building up the product to get any pay out. And I’m very pale so the fact that it doesn’t show right away says a lot about the bronzer. You can still make it look nice and pigmented, but you will just have to spend a little bit of time to get there. It’s not has high quality as Benefit Hoola Bronzer which I’m trying to replace, but it does get the job done for being a drugstore product. I will use this on days where I have more time to sit and build up the color but probably won’t reach for it daily.

Contour Palette

Now my die hard contour palette belongs to NYX but my skin gets picky if I use on product over and over so I needed something to mix it up with so I decided to give this E.L.F. palette a go. Now the light shades in the palette are more of a finishing powder for me instead of a highlight, but I can still use them to set my foundation. These are cool tone which is perfect for us pale people. And just like the bronzer palette, the contour shades are not very pigmented but can be built up. So probably won’t replace my current contour palette but I at least have something else to use if my skin decides to just hate my die hard palette. Also if you’re going for a very natural look, this would be perfect… sarcasm.

Illuminating Palette

Unlike the other palettes which I wasn’t overly impressed with, this palette actually gives you a very natural glow and is pigmented. However, there are darker shades so they don’t look the greatest on fair skin tone. So I will be sticking to the upper two shades. But I can always use these shades for either an inner corner highlight or an eyeshadow. These are very buildable but powdery. So you get what you pay for. But taking that into consideration, they are good for what you pay for.

Overall Thoughts

You get what you pay for. These aren’t overly impressive but if you spend a little time with them, then you can build them up to something relatively nice. If you’ve tried any of these palettes out yourself, let me know what you think of these!
