I got the entire collection of the BFF Mascaras, as much as I don’t need the entire collection I got it as a lot of times when I’m doing creative looks I want a colored mascara. But I didn’t have an option for that previously so when I saw ColourPop release this collection, I was all for it and made an exception in my low buy for it. Also considering the mascara I had previously I was allergic to, I needed something different to try.
They released a total of seven shades for that are supposed to give you a lifted lashes that don’t clump. And not flake off throughout the day with a net weight of 7g (0.24 oz). Each mascara cost $8, which is a pretty good drugstore price. As I mentioned, these are mainly colored. All I can ever think of is the trend of blue mascara that always comes and goes. But at least in my experience in the past, you could apply a blue mascara and you could NEVER tell you had blue mascara on. It always just looked black so I was very curious if these BFF Mascaras would actually be pigmented on the lashes.
So what are the shades:
- Black on Black: Black
- Left on Red: True Red
- Yellow Goodbye: Bright Yellow
- Kiss ‘N Teal: Teal
- Blue Ya Mind: Cobalt Blue
- Purple Prose: Lavender
- Pink Inc.: Magneta
I wish they also launched a white or brown mascara with this launch, but considering it’s their first launch for mascara the inclusion of all of the shades is so interesting. I’m going to share swatches (application) on my eyes and give my two cents on each of the shades.
Overall, I like the mascara. It makes my lashes longer without looking clumpy. Also it doesn’t bother my eyes throughout the day. The first day I wore the mascara I noticed flakes under my eyes but every time I’ve worn it since I have not had that issue with the wear time. The wand isn’t anything we’ve never seen before, it has an hour-glass shape. I can wear the mascara all day long and my lashes still look good by the end of it. Though sometimes I find I need to curl my lashes beforehand to get that lifted look, but I don’t mind that too much.
