Alright that’s it. That’s every palette. We have used in some way on the blog, YouTube or Instagram that have been released by Juvia’s Place as of January 2019. I blame Nikkie Tutorials for convincing me to trying them and a bad hypo-manic episode for causing me to buy every single one. Honestly considering this tower, I will not be buying any new palettes after this for the rest of the year… or I’m going to try not to buy any more palettes for the rest of the year. But like I did with ColourPop and Anastasia Beverly Hills after buying and testing every single one of their palettes also in 2018 (why did I do that too?!?), I’m going to be comparing each of the palettes and ranking them.

Note after doing so many reviews I literally couldn’t take it anymore and just did looks or something else instead. And I didn’t even do a blog post on the original Nubian palette or Tribe. I just did a look using Nubian over on Instagram because I honestly couldn’t think of anything creative enough to make a blog post out of it that wasn’t just a repeat of all of the other palettes. I haven’t shown off Tribe yet since I went into a Disney series, and doing a Tribe image didn’t seem to fit in but I will do something using the palette afterwards.
I’m going to do give each of the palettes a grade or ranking based off a few key elements: cohesiveness of the shades, ratio of finishes, number of shadows with potential to stain (I did not stain with all of the palettes but a good amount of them that have red/pink tones), and classification of what I would consider the palette. The cohesiveness if a rating out of 10 and is based on my opinion of how well it is to pair all of the shadows that are in the palette. Normally I would break down the formula but I found it consistent throughout every shadow in these palettes. None were difficult to work with as far as patchy or oxidizing with different types of base, build, or blend.
Afrique Palette
- Cohesiveness: 7 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 7 matte to 5 metallic/shimmer.
- Staining: 2 out of 12.
- Classification: Combination, majority of palette is neutral with 3 of 12 shades that are bold/creative.
Douce Palette
- Cohesiveness: 9 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 5 matte to 4 metallic/shimmer.
- Staining: 3 out of 9.
- Classification: Pastel neutrals with a bold of bright pink.
Festival Palette
- Cohesiveness: 8 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 5 matte to 4 metallic/shimmer.
- Staining: 3 out of 9.
- Classification: Creative or bold palette. You can make a neutral look out of the palette as 5 shadows could be used to create that look but the main draw in shades are bold.
Magic Palette
- Cohesiveness: 7 out of 10. For those not used to bold colorful metallics like purple, blue, or green when paired with warm tone mattes and two dark blue/purple mattes this could be overwhelming for some. For this I will knock some points but it can be a good introduction to color.
- Finish Ratio: 6 mattes to 10 metallic/shimmers.
- Staining: 3 out of 16.
- Classification: Combination, equally neutral and bold.
Masquerade Palette
- Cohesiveness: 10 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 5 mattes, 2 mattes with glitter, and 9 metallic/shimmers.
- Staining: 5 out of 16.
- Classification: Combination equally neutral and bold/colorful.
Nubian 2 Palette
- Cohesiveness: 10 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 4 mattes to 8 metallic/shimmers.
- Staining: 2 out of 12.
- Classification: Neutral with two bold metallics.
Nubian Palette
- Cohesiveness: 10 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 4 mattes to 8 metallics/shimmers.
- Staining: 0 out of 12. Also only non-vegan formula of the Juvia’s Place palettes.
- Classification: Neutral, no pops of color.
Saharan 2 Palette
- Cohesiveness: 9 out of 10. I’m only knocking a point as all of the mattes are deeper shades so you may need to pull in other palettes depending on the look you are doing.
- Finish Ratio: 3 mattes to 6 metallics/shimmers.
- Staining: 2 out of 9.
- Classification: Neutral with one bold pop of blue.
Saharan Palette
- Cohesiveness: 8 out of 10. It took me a while to figure out how to tie in the matte black shade as it’s the only deep tone so it can feel out of place.
- Finish Ratio: 4 mattes to 8 metallics/shimmers.
- Staining: 2 out of 12.
- Classification: Neutral palette with a pop of bright almost neon orange and green/brown shift metallic shades.
Tribe Palette
- Cohesiveness: 10 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 5 matte to 4 metallic/shimmer.
- Staining: 1 out of 9.
- Classification: Combination as 5 shades are neutral while remaining four are green tones which can lean on the bold side.
Warrior 2 Palette
- Cohesiveness: 10 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 9 mattes with no metallics or shimmers.
- Staining: 3 out of 9.
- Classification: Neutral palette with a pop of orange.
Warrior Palette
- Cohesiveness: 10 out of 10.
- Finish Ratio: 3 mattes to 6 metallics/shimmers.
- Staining: 0 out of 9.
- Classification: Neutral Palette.
Zulu Palette
- Cohesiveness: 6 out of 10. This palette is great for creative or bold looks, but if you aren’t used to an all bold palette this one can look daunting. So I will remove points for that reason as most consumers can be overwhelmed by them, though I can come up with a bunch of looks using the palette.
- Finish Ratio: 6 mattes to 3 metallics/shimmers.
- Staining: 2 out of 9.
- Classification: Creative or bold.
There we go, a quick summary of all of the palettes. I cannot at this time rank them on which ones of my personal favorites as I have only played with each palette either once to three times. I need way more time to just live with the collection to figure out which ones I naturally gravitate towards and reach for a lot. By no means are they going to just sit in my collection gathering dust as I think the formula is bomb.
On that note, I do have a lot of palettes though and I love to make sure I get my use out of all of them. So these will probably make appearances again in the future though I need to revisit older ones in the near future as those have been neglected in case they don’t appear within the next month. I didn’t just try them and forget about them, the collection is massive and I’m not an influencer who gets free stuff. I buy it all myself so I want to get my money’s worth out of everything not just toss anything to the side when I’m done. So as I said in the beginning of this article or post (honestly I can never figure out what to call these), I’m not buying any new eyeshadows so I can just use and play with the ones I have more than just for a review before using the next one has I have been for the last what feels like a year.
