Going through all of the new foundations that I’m trying out, today we’re sharing my thoughts and opinions on the L.A. Girl Pro Matte Foundation in the shade Ivory. I purchased this foundation at Ulta for $8.99, and there are 14 shades in the range with Ivory being the lightest shade. The foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle with a pump that isn’t a struggle to get the product out of it. Which I really appreciate.
Previously I used the L.A. Girl Pro Coverage Illuminating Foundation, which was heavy on the skin and never really dried down so everything you placed on top of it would just slide around unless you applied a lot of setting powder. Which was not something I enjoyed, but I had high hopes when I saw the Pro Matte Foundation on Ulta.
The claims of the Pro-Matte Foundation:
With a soft and suede-like finish, PRO.matte Foundation will have you covered and shine-free all day. Creamy, liquid formula provides smooth and buildable coverage for both day and night time wear. Minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines for an even, soft focus effect. Paraben free formula with added vitamin E, B5 & sunflower oil.
I definitely agree this foundation has a semi-matte almost suede-like finish. I would say this foundation has a medium coverage. As for the claim of minimizing the appearance of fine lines, I would say it’s the exact opposite. I noticed the fine lines on my forehead way more with this foundation then with any other. Especially considering I was also wearing my favorite primer underneath that also minimizes fine lines/pores. As for the claims on minimizing pores, the ones on my nose were covered but still noticeable.
The foundation is light weight and I didn’t notice/feel it on my skin after it settled, which it what I am looking for in a foundation. Also this foundation blends very easily. So while it is not my favorite foundation in the world and still prefer either my Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation, Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation, or Tarte 12-hour Amazonian Clay Foundation more. Have you tried this foundation? If so, what were your thoughts on it?
