I can’t remember where I first saw this challenge. Basically it’s you use a number generator to determine what shadows in a palette you have to use to create a look. Since I just got the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection, I thought it would be a fun to attempt this challenge using all four of the palettes. I did one generator focused on the palettes (1-4) each referring to the palettes in the order I reviewed them. Then another one that’s 1-10 referring to the shadows in that palette. I ran both of these generators six times since on average that’s generally the number of shadows I use in an eyeshadow look.
And here are my relates from the generation:
- From Dark Magic Magic we will be using Powercut (metallic silver) and Shhh (matte dusty taupe).
- From Ring the Alarm we will be using Boom (shimmering blushed bronze).
- From Bling Boss we will be using Berry Treasure (glittering charcoal black) and Glitz & Glam (shimmering rose gold).
- From Armed & Gorgeous will be using Gilt Trip (gold leaf shimmer).
So almost all metallic or shimmer expect for one shade… that being Shhh. Also starting out I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with Powercut as it’s the only true cool tone in the palette since Shhh got used as a base all over the lid. I ended up mixing it in with Gilt Trip for the inner corner. I’ve never done one of these before but instead of a video tutorial, I took a picture after every step. Let me know if you would like more of these in the future.
Step One: Applied the shade Shhh across the crease to add some depth and a stage ground for the entire look.
Step 2: Took the shade Berry Treasure on the outer half/corner to create depth. I figured once placing the shimmers on top it would overpower them or look off so I decided to do this step first. Normally in a look this is the last step for me.
Step 3: Apply Power cut on the inner corner of the eyes so hopefully the silver cool tone doesn’t look off in the overall look.
Step 4: Next I applied Glitz & Glam to the inner one third of the lid to start this super metallic/shimmer shade.
Step 5: Applied the shade Boom to the middle of the lid to capture the final super metallic look. Normally I would not use this much metallic but I like how these two metallic shades look next to each other on the lid.
Step 6: For the final shade, we had Gilt Trip which I ended up adding as a brow highlight and on the upper inner corner leaving the lower half to be Power Cut all on it’s own.
Step 7: Final touches being thick eyeliner, mascara, and brows.
Love ya,
