Making a Statement With JORD Watches | AD

One thing I told myself at the start of the year is I would “age” up my wardrobe. Meaning I would start to dress to reflect my job. I’m a senior technical lead for a healthcare IT firm working in downtown Minneapolis. One thing I swear makes any look more professional looking is a good watch. Over the years I have tried to get watches, but ultimately always stopped wearing them typically due to my metal allergy. About two years ago, I was introduced to JORD Watches which are crafted with wood not metal for the main material of the band. I wanted to get one in the worst way but couldn’t justify the cost, so when they offered to do a collaboration I was beyond excited.

Before I get into the watch, I got from JORD Watches, I thought I would share a little bit about their history.

JORD Watches is a company from St. Louis. They value sustainability, efficiency an experiential living. JORD is ran by artists, designers, marketers, and minders. Who focus on creating timepieces that are modeled after a modern lifestyle. Two of their mottos really stick out to me:

And you can see that reflected in their watches. Plus, I love the organic touch to the watches, it’s unique and makes a statement. There were several styles I was tempted to get, but I ended up going with the style Frankie in ebony and gold ($189). Frankie also comes in the following combinations: Dark Sandalwood & smoke, Zebrawood & Champagne, Dark Sandalwood & emerald, Zebrawood & Navy, Koa & Ash, and Purpleheart & Plum. I love a black accessory so it probably comes at no surprise I would get a watch to reflect that. Plus, the gold is just makes it look timeless, sleek, and could go with any other accessory or outfit. It’s a beautiful & subtle statement piece that doesn’t overwhelm your entire outfit.

I would recommend this as a gift especially if you know anyone that really enjoys organic materials or if you love sleek and refined natural designs! The watch also comes in a beautiful wood box that can be used to store other accessories as well. It’s like two gifts in one!
