Mid-Year Reading Wrap Up

I figured as we’re halfway through the year, I would do a wrap-up of the things that I read. Especially as there were a lot of books that I managed to get through already. I don’t know if I’ll have quite the same amount read in the second half of the year, but you never know. When I get into a good book, I have a hard time putting it down.

Here is the list of everything I read in order from the beginning of 2021:

  27. Barbarianā€™s Heart by Ruby Dixon
  28. Barbarianā€™s Hope by Ruby Dixon
  29. Barbarianā€™s Choice by Ruby Dixon

With all of the re-reads counted, I’ve read 71.5 books this year since one of the books in this list is technically unfinished. Honestly, I’m not even sure when I’m going to go back and finish reading Lightbringer. I do plan on going back and finishing it as I don’t like leaving books unfinished on my shelves, and I think enough time has passed where mentally I can stop comparing the books to Shadow and Bones. As that was my main struggle when I initially read it. That may still be the case but I think I have enough buffer books between now that it shouldn’t be a problem anymore.

Overall, I’ve read a lot of really good books so far this year. Some of them, while I wouldn’t rank them very high as they have problems or elements I don’t like, I do find myself returning to them to re-read the entire book or sections of it. Others have become my new favorite series, even if I don’t rank them very high as I think they’re better as a whole. Those being The Bargainer Series and the Hades/Persephone Series. I’ve returned to those a lot of times since initially reading them. I wouldn’t rate them very high many due to a lot of editing errors that happen throughout those books. But the stories themselves, I cannot get enough of.

Here’s to the rest of 2021.

What books have you read so far this year? Have you read any I did? If so, what was your opinion on them?

Love ya,

Mae Polzine
