Previously I’ve shared my In a Hurry Makeup Routine and my Nighttime Routine, but here is the overall look of my morning routine when I actually give myself time to get ready as well as some tips to ensure you don’t start off your day stressed out. And sometimes this routine even if I give myself time will still include the in a hurry makeup routine.

I am not a morning person, I would much rather sleep until I naturally wake up then start my day then. But work doesn’t go around that kind of schedule, so I like to make my mornings as stress-free as possible. And since I never can wake up on the first alarm, I plan my first alarm to go off at a time where I can hit snooze three or four times before having to be awake. This actually helps me slowly wake up, without me worrying that I’m going to be late. I know a lot of people will say to never do this, but they also only set the alarm when they have to wake up not thirty minutes beforehand as I do.

After this, I put on the outfit I laid out the night before as well as put on my jewelry and makeup for the day. Typically at this point, it’s the in a hurry routine of just eyeliner, mascara, concealer, and a lipstick. Then if I’m feeling more awake or want more makeup I’ll come back to my room later to do this step.

Pixie at this time is staring at me pouting for breakfast or attempting to get me to play fetch with her. So we head downstairs to get both of us breakfast. I typically go with some coffee and a danish if I have any in the house. Otherwise, I will hold off until I get to the office where I have box of oatmeal that I can always make. Which is generally when I eat as I’m not awake enough most of the time to eat at the house. After Pixie finally finishes her breakfast, I will send her outside to go to the bathroom. At this point, while Pixie is outside, is where I’ll go brush my teeth and decide how I’m going to do my hair for the day. Which is usually a braid, bun, or ponytail of some type.

Then I’ll let Pixie in and sit down on the couch. She’ll usually come join me so she can get her morning back rub. After that Pixie is ready to play and I’m generally finally feeling awake so I’ll play with whatever toy she brings me. All this time not looking at my phone or social media accounts, as I find that typically adds stress in my morning. And then at some point, I head off to work enjoying music the entire way.

How do you get ready in the morning?
