MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Fashion Review
The MTV Video Music Awards or VMAs occurred on Sunday, August 28, 2016. Red Carpet for this award show go around the lines of "What the hell are you wearing?" The weirder and more out there the better, in most cases. It's a place where your outfit stands out more than the speeches, and are talked about from years to come. Just think of all things Miley Cyrus in the last few years, she went over the top for the award shows and it's still remembered. So let's get into the looks on the red carpet this year.
Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart
These two YouTubers, looked amazing on the carpet. I love Grace Helbig's turtle neck flower patterned dress, while Mamrie looked stunning in her white dress with a simple gold and green belt. Though these were not over the top as this carpet usually is, they fit in quite well.
She rocked the red carpet in this asymmetrical black dress.
She slayed the carpet in a white cape, jumpsuit combination. Add in the plum lipstick and her look that edgy touch.
Her silver metallic dress with sexy cut outs sizzled on the VMA's red carpet. I love her pulled back hair that give her that elegant touch. And I love that her jewelry in minimal so it doesn't distract from the dress.
She rocked the carpet in this floral minidress with sparkling embellishments. Plus it showed off her tanned legs that are impossible not to stare at.
I loved her sheer, pinstripe white jumpsuit with sparkling heels. And can I just say: #hairgoals. I'm in love with her wavy long hair.
She nailed the red carpet with this cool, bright patterned minidress and her hair half-up, half-down with beach waves.
She looked absolutely studding in this blue dress with sheer panels and plunging cut outs.
Normandi Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui each wore matching outfits that also look perfect on their own for the carpet. They paired off with black and cutout ensembles though out of all of them my least favorite dress has to be Ally's. I don't like an all tight fishnet dress, it looks like she was caught up by a fisherman and dragged onto shore. But the rest of the girls I loved their dresses, especially Camila's and Lauren's.
Now I could've done her entire squad, but there is a lot going on it there. So I'm just going to stick to Beyoncé for this review. She showed up to the carpet in a winged, sheer feather dress, from an up and coming designed named Francesco Scognamiglio. I've seen split reviews online over if it was too much or just right. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about the dress itself but it's definitely a statement that will be talked about for years.
What do you think nailed the red carpet and who's look will be forgotten?
