Nerd Crafts pt 1

I love nerdy inspired crafts. I also knit and crochet (though not as much as I would like to) and am a huge fan of local yarn shops. One of my favorites is StevenBe Yarn Garage and they even have a whole line of yarns called Nerd Alert Yarns. While on their website for other reasons this past week I was looking through their gifts sets and saw one I had to order. Geek Knits Gift Bundle, it comes with a Doctor Who inspired yarn and drawstring bag, and a copy of Geek Knits by Joan of Dark.  I chose my hero as Ten, so the yarn that came with is Ten’s Sonic and the bag is Rose and Ten themed.

It’s a little hard to see but next to the TARDIS key chain there is a rose stitch marker. I’ve been flipping through the book and want to make all the crafts! Ten’s Sonic is so beautiful, I know it’s hard to see in the photo but it glitters throughout as it  shifts between the blue and grey and black. The tattoo style back of the bag with the quote “Rose Tyler I…” instatnly hit me and Mae in the feels

I didn’t realize the book would be signed, but anyone who knows me knows I have an obsession with signed editions. I’m also going to keep an eye out in-case Joan of Dark (aka Tori Carr) ever does a class or seminar.

I almost want to reorder this to also get the Eleven bundle, however the site also has a Knit for Nerds bundle with Star Wars inspired yarn and bag. I’m just going to wait and see what’s available when I have money again.

Are there any nerd craft (doesn’t have to be knit) projects/books I should look into?
