It’s been a while since I did a book haul. While I had added books to my collection, I’ve been mindful of making sure I’ve read those new books. However, there are quite a few from previous hauls that I still need to get to, which I’m kind of waiting for the mood to hit. I sometimes love and hate being a mood reader. I might think a book will be good and purchase it, but unless that mood hits it ends up sitting on my shelf. But we’re not talking about those books. Today, I’m sharing my most recent haul as I ended up getting quite a few (probably was in a semi-hypomanic state at the time but we’re not talking about that).
So, what books did I end up purchasing?

A Magic Steeped in Poison duology by Judy I. Lin
The first book was a book club book for one of my discord servers, but I have yet to get to it. I wasn’t in a reading mood during the month of October, so I didn’t get around to reading it. So, maybe in November, I will be. All I know is this duology focuses on a girl who accidentally killed her mom after serving her tea, and may have poisoned her sister by doing the same thing. As I know magic is involved, I’m guessing that’s how she discovers she has magic. Don’t know, but hopefully, when I get to this book I’ll figure that out.
Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi
I have seen mixed things about this series. That the beginning is better than the end, and that Aaron Warner is everyone’s book boyfriend. He’s morally grey. But other than that, I don’t know much about this series. So, I’m looking forward to reading it.

The Raven Boys series by Maggie Stiefvater
I heard this series is about found family, but I don’t know much more beyond that. It’s been something on my TBR list for ages, so maybe soon I’ll get around to reading it now that I have it.
Renegades trilogy by Marissa Meyer
I don’t remember where I heard about this series, but I remember someone mentioned it was really good. It’s by the same author that wrote the Cinder series and Heartless (both are on my wishlist). I’m not 100% sure what the trilogy is about, other than there are star-crossed lovers involved.

Foul Lady Fortune by Chloe Gong
This is the spin-off series by Chloe Gong from her first duology. I will 100% admit, I’m probably not going to read this book until the second in the duology is released. Where the first duology was a Romeo & Juliet retelling, this one is inspired by Shakespeare’s As You Like It. I have never read that play by Shakespeare, so I won’t be able to pick up on all the references but I’m sure it’s going to be close to what These Violent Delights was to Romeo & Juliet. This series follows Rosalind and Orion. What I know of As You Like It, the main characters were Rosalind and Orlando. Maybe I’ll read the original before I go into reading this duology.
Caraval/Once Upon a Broken Heart series by Stephanie Garber
This is technically two series but I’m combining them since they take place in the same universe. I have already read the first book in the series and started the second, but I haven’t gotten far into it. And can already tell this is going to get more interesting as the Fates become involved in what’s happening. If you want to see my thoughts on the first book, Caraval, check out my review.

And those are all the books I got recently. It might not look like a long list here, but considering how many books were in the series it was a total of twenty-three books. Will I get to all these books soon? No idea. As it really depends on my mood. Plus in November, there are nine books I pre-ordered coming. So, we’ll see what I actually get around to reading. I probably won’t do a haul when those come as they are spread out throughout the month. But if I get around to those books, there will be a review for them in some form. Either through a mini-review at the end of the month, a full review, or a review of the series overall. It all depends on my mood after I read them and how many thoughts I have.
Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think of them? No spoilers though, please!
Love ya,
