NYX Worth the Hype Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara Review

Advertisements

NYX Worth the Hype MascaraFor the past month, I have been testing out a new mascara that is relatively new to the drugstore which is the NYX Worth the Hype Mascara. This mascara is claimed to make your lashes appear darker, fuller and longer as well as last all day long. According to NYX this is also suppose to be a buildable formula that is “worth the hype” in every which  way… but is it? That’s what I wanted to find out. As my favorite mascara at the time was the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara which is not cheap by any means. So if I could find a mascara at the drugstore that matches it then I was going to be all for it.

Thoughts on the Worth the Hype Mascara

Testing it out on it’s own, my lashes definitely looked darker and longer without being too clumpy or spider leg like. So that’s a major plus for me. Plus it doesn’t transfer or flake off during the day, especially if you work out or have watery eyes. My mom has exceptionally watery eyes and I applied it to her one day, and she had no issues with the formula. Though it doesn’t came to be waterproof, it does seem pretty damn waterproof. Which I like ’cause sometimes I forget to take off my mascara before a workout or my eyes water due to the windy/cold weather in Minnesota.

And the best part about this mascara it’s $8 and can be found in a lot of different drugstores as well as at Ulta. So that made this even more of something that I wanted to continue wearing on a daily basis especially considering mascaras go bad after three months of being opened. Which makes this so much easier on my budget compared to the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara that I was obsessed with since that’s $23. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad mascara, hell I loved it but when you have to be on a budget spending that much every three months for a single product can be a little much at times. Especially since it’s something you use every single day.

Final Thoughts

I love this mascara and will continue to use/purchase it. Even over my Tarte mascara, as I think it just is more worth it for the price points. What mascara is your current favorite? Or which one are you currently using/trying out?

Love ya,

I noticed that with several mascaras of theirs in the past but didn’t have that issue with this one.

I tried a NYX mascara once and it did nothing to my lashes. Barely and product came out. I curently love Maybelline Lash Sensational MAscara and Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara. I don’t try new mascaras anymore because everytime there’s a new mascara it’s everyone’s favorite, regardless. The Maybelline Big Shot mascara is trash and everyone “seems to love it”. However, I think I’ll give this one a try because I really liked your review and it seems very honest. Thank you.

Totally agree with you there, everyone’s current favorite is the shiny new thing that hit the shelf. I was thinking the same thing when I heard about this mascara as like you none of their other ones did anything for me. But this one I see very similar results as my other favorite mascara Tartes Lights, Camera, Lashes.
