For twenty or so years Pantone has been releasing a color of the year based off what they believe will become a trend. Or rather whatever they pick to be the color of the year ends up influencing product development for fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design. This year the color they decided to was the Color of the Year was Living Coral. Which they describe as:
Vibrant, yet mellow PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.

Previous Colors of the Year have been:
So inspired by this years color I thought I would do a makeup look using only coral tones… which I don’t think go with my skin tone at all but is a bit of fun. Now this look is not going to be revolutionary by any means so don’t expect it to be groundbreaking. It’s basically a solid color, but that’s the challenge of it. Making one color into a look in every aspect of my makeup. Also I completely got this idea from Jkissa, but wanted to do my own take on the idea.
Then I watched the little video from Pantone’s website on the color and saw the little clown fish swimming near the coral and was like “Yes, let’s do that.” So we have a little clown fish and water across the center of my face with some little bubbles.
Products used to create this look:
- ColourPop Sol Palette
- ColourPop Ooh LaLa! Palette
- Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Drug Lord, (818), and Coral Fixation
- NYX Epic Ink Liner
- Essence Volume Stylist Curl & Hold Mascara
- NYX In Your Element Air Palette
- Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette shade saphyre
- e.l.f. blush in Candid Coral
