It’s been quite a while since I’ve done an actual review. I have a few items left to play with and try out so I thought I would do one for the ColourPop x Becky G Salvaje Pressed Powder Palette. This palette was made to create the ultimate fiesta looks with “bright pops of color, insane metallic shimmer, and versatile neutral mattes to wear on the daily.” According to ColourPop’s website.
This palette drew me in as I love a mixture of teal, burgundy, and copper tones when it comes to makeup. If a palette has that combination it’s instantly something I gravitate towards since I know I can create a variety of looks. And if I’m going to travel somewhere, granted I rarely do, that would be a palette I would reach for instead of grabbing several different ones to cover the basics.
Break Down of Salvaje Palette
The Salvaje palette is $18 and has a net weight of 12 x 1.0g (0.04 oz). Which breaks down to $1.50 per pan. Comparing this palette to other 12 pan ColourPop palettes this one is the same as The Zodiac palette since they both have a mirror instead as compared to the others priced at $16 which do not. So pretty standard priced for a ColourPop palette. There are 8 matte shades and 4 metallics.
It does come in a cardboard packaging but it is the typical sturdy packaging that all other palettes from this brand come in. Plus it’s got gorgeous floral artwork on the cover. The names of each of the shadows are underneath the pan which I like, and they also have them on the back… which is a little redundant but it keeps with the theme of all ColourPop palettes.

Looks Using Salvaje Palette
The first look is an extremely minimal look using only three shadows in the palette: Estrella for the inner corner, Lola as the transition, and Sangria as the made attraction. I also used a bit of brown or Smoked Amber liquid eyeliner from Covergirl to complete the look.
The second look includes more colors and is a little more smokey. I used the following shades to create this look: Luna, Estrella, Celosa, Malbec, Vibra, Sirena, Corona, Sangria, Caramelo, and Lola.
The last look is what I’m going to call the problem with hooded eyes. I could not for the life of me keep the metallic out of the lid. Second I would look up for blink it was ruined. I tried really hard to get a shot before all the metallic got all over the lids but you can easily see the transfer. That is not the fault of the shadows, more just my eye shape. For this look I used the following shadows: Luna, Estrella, Patrona, Vibra, Sirena, Corona, Sangria, and Lola.
Final Thoughts
Is this palette a much? No, but that can be said of any palette. Do I enjoy playing with it and can see myself reaching for it often? Yes. The shades are gorgeous and there’s so much versatility this palette can offer. There isn’t any repeat shades or inconsistencies. They apply wonderfully on the eyes with synthetic brushes (I don’t know about animal or natural brushes as I don’t use those). Some of the shades I can think of other palettes that have a similar story but not this exact one all together.

What do you guys think? Is this a palette you could see yourself using a lot?

I love all the looks you did with this palette! I didn’t get this one because a lot of the shades reminded me of the Soft Glam palette which I already have (minus the pops of blue) but if I didn’t have that one I would have picked it up. Great review! x

A very good point. The tones are very similar between those palettes though with slight variations.
