Review of the Dominique Cosmetics Rustic Glam Palette

Advertisements

Something I’ve been wearing every day for the last week is Dominique Cosmetics Rustic Glam palette, I was going to do a week in makeup using this palette then my skin and eye were driving me crazy… so instead I’m just going to do an old fashion review rather than the looks I created using this palette. The Rustic Glam palette is the newest eyeshadow palette released by Dominique Cosmetics that retails for $44 USD and contains twelve shades.

PACKAGING

The packaging of Dominique Cosmetics Rustic Glam palette is similar to her other palettes, specifically the Berries and Cream Palette. It’s slim with a very pretty design on the outside. It is rather large compared to most palettes due to the length. So it’s not something that’s easy to put into a makeup bag or on the go. I don’t have issues storing this as I keep my eyeshadow palettes sitting upright in a bin, but if you use just a makeup bag it might be too long.

The palette itself is made from hard cardboard and includes a mirror on the inside the length of the palette.

COLOR STORY

This palette while colorful is rather neutral as the colorful or more bold shades are muted. Basically if I think of a Tarte Cosmetics palette when they do a colorful palette. Not that it’s a bad thing, as I’ve had fun creating every day makeup looks using this palette. The shades in the palette are:

PIGMENTATION, FALLOUT & BLEND

I love the matte formula from Dominique Cosmetics. The shades have good pigmentation and blend nicely on the lids. You can also build up the shades instead of going all in at once if that’s how you enjoy applying your makeup.

There is some kickback in the palette but I don’t have any fallout on the cheeks from the matte shades and most of the shimmer/metallic shades. The only shade I had issues when it came to fallout was the shade Moon Child if I apply it with a packing brush. If I apply it with my finger, I do not experience this issue.

WEAR TIME

I can wear these shadows all day long without creasing or fading even when I don’t use an eye primer. As I did several days when I was wearing this palette, but they do perform better when applied over a concealer or primer. The longest I wore the shadows before it started to wear and/or I just took off my makeup was ten hours. I could’ve pushed it further, but that was as long as I was in the mood to wear makeup on any of the days I’ve worn the palette.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE RUSTIC GLAM PALETTE FROM DOMINIQUE COSMETICS?
