The Sims 4 has come out with a new expansion pack called Seasons. And I’m insanely excited about this! Though I’ve never been a massive fan of seasons in the previous games, I did love that it was in the game since it made the game more realistic. Normally my pain point with seasons has always been winter, the snow never seemed right or it forced all of my sims to be stuck indoors when I didn’t want them to be. Though I did love having vacation worlds include winter so they could have a snowy getaway. And from the trailer, the snow might just be one of those things I’m not impressed with again as it doesn’t look like it responds to when sims walk through it. But trailers are never 100% accurate so I withheld judgement until I got to play that season myself. Which I haven’t yet gotten to since I’ve started most of my games in summer or fall so far.
The biggest features of this expansion pack are the following:
- Four Seasons: From crisp snowfalls to sweltering heat, every world is affected by seasons in unique ways.
- Seasonal Activities: Create a winter story with ice skating, befriend a magical scarecrow in fall, share a spring fling during a downpour, or host a summer pool party.
- Calendar and Holiday Celebrations: Mark your calendar for traditional holidays and create your own! Gather friends and family to celebrate holidays complete with traditions, gifts, and special guests.
- Gardening Career: Begin a blossoming gardening career and become a botanist or floral arranger.
I have always wanted an actual gardening career in the Sims 4. I felt like it was always something that was needed considering there is a high reward from aspiration points of a green thumb. And I can’t wait to explore this career. I’m going to be adding it for sure in my Immortal Twins let’s play on my gaming channel. I don’t know who is going to have this career since no one in the series currently I’ve had shown any interest in gardening. Not sure yet but it will come into play at some point.
I also love that we actually get holiday celebrations, I really could’ve used that in my Christmas Let’s Play last year when we had Santa Claus working all series leading up to Christmas. And we only could pretend to do that. Also I really want to see the Spring Fling. Will it be like the Sims 3 where teenagers go off to a dance or an event that you can throw during the spring season. I haven’t gotten to that yet since this expansion pack has just came out and I haven’t been able to get that far into the seasons yet. But I have played around with creating my own celebrations and I love that you make anything you like with any traditions you like. I can so see myself using that a lot in the sims.
Once I get more game time with the seasons I’ll update my rankings of the all of the packs as to where this one falls. I don’t know if it will beat out Cats & Dogs, but it for sure will be higher than Get Together. As much as I love Windenburg and slightly use clubs, that expansion pack just never has made it higher on the list in comparison to all of the other ones that have come out.
Love ya,
Mae Polzine
