In our final installment of style on focus, we’re going to the tomboy style. Which is basically the style I lived in during most of my elementary and junior high school years. I did not want to dress girly in any way. Black clothing or pink clothing, baggy over fitted or “flow-y” with frills and laces. And I still love a lot of elements from this style, as I would rather get graphic t-shirts and sweatshirts from the men’s section of any department store as compared to the same items over in the women’s department.
Now you don’t have to dress like a “dude” in order to have a tomboy style. The key to making this look work is to throw in just a touch of femininity if you didn’t want to go full on tomboy. And that can be from slightly pointed shoes, a few undone buttons on your shirt, or some golden hardware on your satchel. Other items that I love from this style include leather jackets, ripped jeans, and combat boots. They also tie in with the rocker style but depending on how you dress up or down the look put it in one of two different categories.
What style do you navigate towards? Or how do you add a more tomboy touch to your wardrobe? There are of course other fashion styles out there that I have not covered in style on focus, let me know in the comments if you would like any more and I’ll try to make some more of these in the future.
