Summer Friday | Ipsy Glambag May 2017 Unbagging

This month's Ipsy Glambag is a clear bag with ice cream and Popsicle pattern on it. I also love that this is water resistant, which makes this a nice little bag that you can bring with you to the beach or pool side. I'm happy to announce that all the products in this month's glambag are cruelty free! Which I'm beyond happy about as I haven't had that in a few months now. Granted a few of those brands have since changed their policies, so sort of a win though at the time they weren't.

If you haven't heard about Ipsy, this is a monthly subscription service where you get a makeup bag with a special design every month that is filled with 5 products selected for you based off your beauty profile. The service is $10 per month. And you earn points for reviewing products that you receive and for referring others to the service, that can be used towards the purchase of products from their website.

Note: the "Claims of this product" are taken from Ipsy's item description of each product.

South Mane Macadamia Oil Treatment

This is a brand I have not heard about previously but I really want to get into using oils in my beauty regime. specially as my hair really needs it lately as our water softener was broken so that along with dying my hair lighter has severely killed it. I'm trying to use any product I can that's cruelty free to bring it back to life. I reached out to them and found they are a sub-company of Be a Bombshell Cosmetics which is cruelty free. So I confirmed their sub-company South Mane is cruelty free as well, I have updated my cruelty free guides with this as I know I was confused when I was looking at their website.

Claims of this product:

  • Step aside argan oil, there’s a new hair oil on the scene! And this one, made from Macadamia nuts, hydrates ALL hair types (yes, even curly, coily, and wavy), tames frizz, and strengthens your hair follicles.
  • We love bedhead, but greasy hair is not a good look. This oil is super fast-absorbing and lightweight, so it keeps your strands silky-smooth and hydrated, not heavy.
  • Time is on your side with this bad boy. Using it literally cuts down on your styling and drying time.
  • Have your moment in the sun and get brownie points from your colorist! It’s infused with UV protection to guard your artful ombre job from fading.

Urban Decay Afterglow in Sin

I actually already have the full size of this highlighter but haven't used it for a while, and I'm not sure why. But this is one of my favorite highlighters. My favorite way to wear this highlighter is putting Milk highlighting stick on first then layering the Urban Decay Afterglow highlighter on top so it's even more blinding.

Claims of this product:

  • You dew you! If you’re looking for an IRL version of that amazing Snapchat filter glow, this champagne-hued highlighter is IT.
  • Inside sources tell us the powder formula is super duper finely milled, which means it’s creamy AF, but still majorly lightweight.
  • We see you shining on (and on). This long-wearing luminizer kept our glow-game strong from morning rush hour to 6PM happy hour (and beyond).
  • We’re obsessed with all of Urban Decay’s shade names, but TBH the only sin you’ll be committing with this baby is being TOO lit.

Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen in BlackNoir

I am in love with this eyeliner and this is my first time trying it. And it last all day! I swatched it on the back of my hand in the video, then fell asleep and it was still looking perfect when I woke up as I forgot to take it off. Plus then I went in the shower and it lasted through that until I took a makeup wipe to it. So it's claim of being waterproof and budge proof is very true! I'm going to get myself more of these eyeliners in the future. Plus it just glides on your eyes effortlessly.

Claims of this product:

  • Don’t be a drag. This super smooth, silky liner glides on like a dream (no tugging here!) and dries ASAP, so your lines stay perfectly sharp and smudge-free.
  • Trust us when we say the formula is SO waterproof. We even gave it a test run by watching the epic tearjerker Titanic and it did. not. budge.
  • We have zero tolerance for washed-out liner. This pencil is mega-pigmented, so your cat eye will REALLY pop.

Pacifica Island Life Eyeshadow Palette

I love this palette, I hadn't tried any of Pacifica's eyeshadows before but these apply so beautifully and I love how pigmented they are. The swatches above are just one swipe from the palette to the back of my hand using the sponge applicator in the palette. Now I wouldn't use that to apply my eyeshadows overall but just to press down eyeshadows it does a great job!

Claims of this product:

  • What do you get when you mix coconut water and natural minerals with a little bit of shimmer and a whole lot of beautiful color? Only the best crease-free, velvety eyeshadow ever! (NBD.)
  • Go ahead, Marie Kondo your beauty bag! With 5 gorg on-trend shades PLUS a double-ended applicator, this palette is pretty much all you’ll need for your smokin’ Summer Friday eye vibes.ti
  • Want VIP status? You got it! This palette is an ipsy exclusive—which means you can’t get it ANYWHERE else.

trèStiQue Mini Matte Lip Crayon in Tuscan Wine

I believe I've gotten another one of these before, but it's somewhere buried in my lipstick collection that I seriously need to sort through. This lip crayon glides on your lips like a silky, buttery dream and feels insanely nice. Now this doesn't last all day but I don't mind as they make my lips feel amazing and not dried out after wearing it.

Claims of this product:

  • Love the look of lip crayons, but can’t stand the uncomf, heavy feel? This buttery-soft lippie knows what’s up! It looks like a super opaque lipstick, but it’s really lightweight, so you won’t even know it’s there.
  • It perfected the art of being moisturizing AND matte at the same time, thanks to yummy-sounding ingredients like Vitamin E, Monoi de Tahiti butter, and coconut oil.
  • The rich, bold red hue gives us all the confidence we need for a first date. (Sorta like our fave Merlot!)

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what did you think. If not and are subscribed to Ipsy, what did you get in your glambag this month? I would love to know!
