Looking Back on May 2022

Looking Back on May 2022

Finally! I'm back to working full-time after three months of being out of a job. I was seriously feeling the effects of that. My mind was shattered almost constantly (like I struggled to think or concentrate on one thing at a time), and I was struggling mentally with how to cope. The one thing I had to look forward to in the last month was that I was starting a new job. What I find a little funny, the last two jobs I interviewed for and started with both had start dates very close to my birthday. I'm going to be in what they call "training" for the next six months, but I'm excited about this next chapter.…

Inside Out Inspired Body Paint

Inside Out Inspired Body Paint

Recently, I did a body paint inspired by Inside Out. I couldn't decide which character I wanted to do, so I did them all along with circle bubbles for memories. This was done during a live stream over on Twitch. I figured I would do a lookbook of this since I love how it turned out and it's been a hot minute since I did one of these types of posts. I might do more of them in the future for each of my looks since I do these typically every Saturday.…

Looking Back on April 2022

Looking Back on April 2022

Another month has come and gone. I spent the first half of this month in a state of stress. Two months of being unemployed were starting to get to me. I had multiple interviews and jumped through a lot of hoops (essays, presentations, etc.) only to be told "the company changed their mind on hiring" or to hear nothing at all. Luckily, I got a job offer from a company I've heard good things about. I won't start the new job until the middle of May, but I'm excited to start that next chapter. I just need to chill for another month, but I'm not stressed about what's going to happen next. I already know. It's just going to take some time before it starts.…

Happy Bunny Day (aka Easter)

Happy Bunny Day (aka Easter)

t's been two years since Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out. And the 3rd Bunny Day since it was released. So, I thought I would do another take on the event by body painting. The first one I ever did was Zipper with eggs on my face, and this year I decided to do both on my chest instead. I love both looks, but especially love this year since it shows improvement. …

Looking Back on March 2022

Looking Back on March 2022

My string of bad luck continued into March. Besides not finding a new job, literally, every application of mine was rejected or came back with "we're going with other applicants at this time", my computer decided that I was no longer allowed to play video games after I finished Hollow Knight. I have professionally worked for a decade with computers, you would think I would be able to fix this issue rather easily. But nope... I did next to everything I could think of. …

Spring Bees Body Paint & Art

Spring Bees Body Paint & Art

We all have things we're allergic to. Some people are allergic to specific foods or can't handle certain things (nuts, gluten, lactose, etc.) and then there are those that are allergic to other things (pollen, dust, animals, etc.). I fall into the last group. I'm allergic to bees. Not to a deadly degree, but if I do get stung by them or wasps or get any other kind of bug bite my skin balloons ridiculously. Add on the fact I'm allergic to the medicine commonly given to deal with that swelling, it's a fun combination. Since Spring is returning, that means bees are going to be coming back. So, I thought it would be fun to body paint them this week.…

Evolution of my Body Painting Skills Over the Years

Evolution of my Body Painting Skills Over the Years

Some days I cannot believe how far my body painting skills have come for the years. So, I thought I would compare some of my earliest body paints to ones I've done more recently that had a similar vibe or theme. Not only has my skill improved but the quality of the photos has as well. It's something I really love seeing. Some days I cannot believe how far my body painting skills have come for the years. Looking Back on January 2022

Looking Back on January 2022

Even though I'm not doing goals for 2022, I'm still going to continue with writing out everything I accomplished at the end of each month. Mainly as a diary for myself to look back on everything I managed to do. Ultimately my plan for the year is just to experience new things by playing video games I never have before (a lot of Nintendo games that were on consoles I never had growing up along with others), have fun creatively with art and body painting, and finish writing my novel (without restarting it as I have for the last few years every time I near the ending). On top of that, I think at some point this year I might get another dog, a puppy to be specific, I would like to get one while Pixie still has a pep to her step so she can help train the little one before her elder years. Plus, Pixie ultimately does better when there's another dog around.…

Turning Myself into Itward from Fran Bow

Turning Myself into Itward from Fran Bow

ng time. So, I was really excited to do that on during one of my more recent live streams on Twitch. I did a mixture of the game's style with a more realistic skull using Madeyewlook's Itward body paint as a reference.…

Memorial to 2021 Body Paint

Memorial to 2021 Body Paint

As a way of looking back at 2021, I decided I would kick off the year by doing a body painting that's a combination of some of my most "loved" looks that I did in 2021. There are a total of nine different looks that went into this: deershroom, elf, split lips, butterfly skull, Captain Marvel, Howl Pendragon from Howl's Moving Castle, Ursula, Cracked Stone Statue, and Ice Cream. I was a little nervous about how this was going to turn out. I wasn't exactly going off of a reference short of looking at the body paints that I did for each of these looks. But not one with all of them combined, if you don't know I can't visualize things in my head. I don't think in pictures, so sometimes that makes things interesting when I paint, draw, or do body art. So, while I knew what I was combining, I didn't know what it would look like. So, I was surprised, to say the least with how much I loved the way this turned out.…
