The History of Eyeliner

The History of Eyeliner

Next product we’re going to dive into the history of is eyeliner. This has been my favorite makeup product since I was ten years old. Honestly until I was like twenty the only product I ever needed to get through the day was a good liner. And while I don’t have a lot of liners today, it’s still that one thing I need to apply before stepping out of the door most days.

NYX Epic Ink Liner Review

NYX Epic Ink Liner Review

Liquid eye liners are something I’m insanely picky about. I look for a liner that is black and has a felt tip. I find they are the easiest to work with when they are basically a pen. But finding both of those together that isn’t defeated by metallic or shimmer shadows is a challenge. Previously I was using the Wet n Wild Skinny Tip Liner but I have mentioned this before, it bleeds and if it’s brought near the inner corner it’s all over the lower waterline. So the hunt was still on for something different. Recently I saw JKissa mention NYX Epic Ink Liner in one of her videos and I thought I would get it a try.

Wet n Wild MegaSlim Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Review

Wet n Wild MegaSlim Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Review

For the past few months, I’ve switched from a thick felt tipped eyeliner to a skinny one, the Wet n Wild MegaSlim Tip Eyeliner in Black to be precise. Which I got for $4.99 at my local drugstore, as I needed something one day where I didn’t have any makeup on me but suddenly had a meeting with a client so I felt the need to add a little bit of glam to my look. So that’s how I ended up getting introduced to this liner. And now I have a few of them: one in my collection, one in my backpack, and one spare in chance I can’t find the other two.

Morphe Eyeliner & Lip Liner Review and Swatches

Morphe Eyeliner & Lip Liner Review and Swatches

I initially tried out these products when I did my Morphe Dare to Create review, and have been using these liners frequently since then. These liners you can either use as lip liners or eyeliners. Morphe has 70 shades in total and I do not have every single one of them. I have 8 liners in total that I got in a set, but I am planning on getting a few more to add to my collection as I love to have liners for every type of look especially for my waterline. Since I think it looks amazing when this matches my eyeshadows that I smudge under my lashes. This formula is creamy and very pigmented. I don’t have any issues with the shades not showing over my eyeshadows as I do with some other pencil liners.

Cruelty Free Eyeliners That I Basically Live In

Cruelty Free Eyeliners That I Basically Live In

One of my makeup everyday staple is eyeliner ever since I was eleven years old. Much to my mother’s disapproval but she couldn’t stop me from having raccoon eyes for many years. And my overall eyeliner application has done better, I don’t have raccoon eyes anymore but I can’t say that some days my eyes don’t go out of control. Especially when my wing goes from a kitten wing to an elephant wing. So I thought it would be a good idea to start a new series that instead of reviewing new products that I would just share the ones I always live in. So what better product to start with then the product that started it all for me.
