Taylor Swift Eras Book Tag

This was a tag created on Instagram by lizzyy.reads, but because I don't use Instagram for book sharing, I decided to blog the tag instead. I've stated before that I enjoy Taylor Swift, but I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with her. Having said that, I listen to several of her songs on repeat. And I thought the concept of Eras in book form was intriguing. To be honest, I'm amazed I have one for each of these. I'll get into that as I discuss each of the Eras books.…
View PostEverything I Read in 2022

It's been an entire year. I hope everyone had a good year. I thought I would wrap up the year by looking back at every single book I read in 2022. We'll see if 2023 is similar in terms of how many books I read.…
View PostMid-Year Reading Wrap Up (2022)

The year is officially halfway over, so I thought it was time to look back at all the books I've read so far since the start of 2022. Several of these books I read multiple times during the course of the year, so the actual number of books is higher if you take that into consideration, but I didn't count how many times I re-read books, and some of them I only re-read certain sections, like returning to the romance only portion of some books and skipping the plot. It depends on the book and what I was in the mood for at the time. I also did not include any books that I read in previous years in this list, only the new ones.…
View PostLooking Back at June 2022

I've officially been at my new job for a full month and have spent the entire time training. It's been interesting, as it's felt like I've been at school for a month instead of actually working. There have been homework assignments, presentations, and demonstrations of knowledge. I'll be curious to see what happens once I get into actually working tasks/issues. But so far it's been non-stop learning. I finished off the month by giving a demonstration of what I had learned thus far and will have several more of these next month. I think it went pretty well, and I found it interesting how to go into the presentation, as it was different from how I gave trainings in the past.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Glow (The Plated Prisoner Series, Book 4) by Raven Kennedy

Glow is the fourth installment in the reimaging of the King Midas myth series called The Plated Prisoner. It takes place immediately following the events of Gleam, so spoiler warning for that book. Auren has killed King Midas and is no longer under his control. Slade has escaped the Fifth Kingdom's palace with her after temporarily rotting her to save her life. However, in their attempt to flee the palace, the other kingdoms decide to come up with their own narrative of what happened. Stating that Auren can steal powers and seduced Slade in an attempt to steal his as well, all so the other kingdoms could appear more powerful. Of course, we know that's not true but we get to see how this narrative plays out in Glow.…
View PostBooks I’m Looking Forward to Reading in June 2022

I haven't done a post like this since March, while there have been new releases since then there wasn't a lot to the point where I felt inclined to write a post like this. But in June there are five books that I'm looking forward to coming out this month. Of course, there will be other books that I will be reading as well. Most of which will be off Kindle Unlimited, got to get my money's worth out of that subscription. Which never seems to be an issue, since I signed up for it.…
View PostEverything I Read in 2021

It's been an entire year. I hope everyone had a good year. I thought I would wrap up the year by looking back at every single book I read in 2021. Honestly, I'm surprised by how many books I read. Not only that but I started reading new genres during the course of this year, though it still is related to fantasy/sci-fi (for the most part). We'll see if 2022 is similar in terms of how many books I read. I have a lot on my reading list still.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Gleam (The Plated Prisoner Series, Book 3) by Raven Kennedy

Gleam is the third installment in the reimaging of the King Midas myth series called The Plated Prisoner. It takes place immediately following the events of Glint, so spoiler warning for that book. Auren learns the fact that King Ravinger is Commander Rip. He is able to transform his appearance between the two, and he's just learned that she's the one who can turn things to gold not Midas. I started this book immediately after finishing Glint because I had to know how Auren was going to react to that information. She has started to get feelings for the Fourth Kingdom's King. Not only that but she feels betrayed by him for not telling her that detail. Similar to how everyone hides or keeps things from her, or tries to dictate her life. She's done with it. And honestly, I don't blame her.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Glint (The Plated Prisoner Series, Book 2) by Raven Kennedy

immediately following the events of Gild, so spoiler warning for that book. Auren has been taken by the Fourth's Army, where she is being held captive by Commander Rip and being taken back to Midas so the two kings can come to some sort of agreement. Going into the book I was curious how this one would go especially since it doesn't have the same warnings as the first book. Which I hoped was a good thing, because I really didn't like some of those elements in the first book. But was still drawn in enough by the story, I wanted to see where it would continue with the rest of the series.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Gild (The Plated Prisoner Series, Book 1) by Raven Kennedy

Gild is a reimaging of the King Midas myth, the individual who can turn anything to gold with the touch of his hand. The Plated Prisoner series is told from the perspective of Auren, who has been turned into gold from her hair, skin, eyes, etc. Everything about her is gold even down to the two dozen ribbons that come out of her back. She is the prized possession of King Midas and locked away in a gilded cage where no one, so no one but him can touch her. The story takes place ten years after she was locked away in the cage, where she finds herself on the other side of the cage where there's no protection for the first time.…
