The Pop Culture Download #20: The Mandalorian

For this week’s Pop Culture Download we’re just going to be focused on The Mandalorian as its the only new thing I’ve watched since the rest has consisted of watching the classic Disney movies on Disney+. Plus, I watched it twice so it gets it’s own dedicated post.

The Pop Culture Download #19: Star Wars IX, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and More

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done one of these Pop Culture Downloads, but I had just been re-watching my favorite Christmas movies leading up to the holidays and didn’t have much to share. But now I do! I also got Disney + for Christmas so I am so watching things on there, so look out for that content in the future in these Pop Culture Downloads. Anyways, onto my thoughts on some things that I discovered or watched recently.

Star Wars Inspired Makeup Look

A Christmas tradition of my family is going to see the latest Star Wars movie in theaters and this year we’re looking forward to The Rise of Skywalker. My sister challenged me to do a Star Wars related look, so I created this one on Darth Maul, C-3PO, and R2-D2. The only photoshop is the horn on the Darth Maul look. Thanks for the challenge sis!

Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi Review

Yesterday, I went to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi in theaters. And all I knew about it going it was this movie was supposed to rival that of The Empire Strikes Back. Which is one of the greatest Star Wars movies ever put out. So to say I was excited to see this and also a little nervous is an underestimate. Nervous that it wouldn’t live up to the hype. But the hype is well deserved. As the movie was speculator! Though I do have to say if certain moments or choices were made differently by the characters, the conflict would’ve been resolved much quicker and with less losses on the side of the Rebellion. But then the movie would be insanely short and not as fun to watch.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Movie Review

I saw this movie on Christmas and seriously enjoyed the movie. And it was a little bittersweet to watch know that Carrie Fisher passed away… I would rank this Star Wars movie right after Empire Strikes Back which is my favorite Star Wars movie. And though it ranks up there in the franchise and is very dark compared to the others, there are some issues with the movie. As there are with all movies. No movie is without issue.

Dressing Up the Dogs in Star Wars Costumes

So my roommate, Harley, and I are massive nerds and when we saw at PetSmart that there were Star Wars costumes, we couldn’t help ourselves and got six of them for our two dogs: Kiki and Pixie. Now Kiki is totally used to wearing outfits while Pixie will occasionally wear them depending on how they are cut and fitted. As some are tighter in some spots than others. Her favorite thing to wear are bandanas, but even then some days she does not want to wear anything but her collar. What I’m trying to say in a very roundabout way, I wouldn’t do anything to my dog that she isn’t comfortable with. She makes the best facial expressions and I know how to read them all, including her sassy “I am not doing that” face. And luckily on the day we put these all on for the photoshoot, Pixie was totally fine with us putting them on. Though a few she did not like after a few minutes as they were just too much and they were promptly removed.
