Authors Who I Consider Auto-Buy (Read Everything That’s Released)

There aren't many authors who I would read everything they publish. Either because I'm not interested in all of their concepts or because I'm only interested in specific universes. Or they have way too many series, so I pick and choose which one I'm going to read. And then, there are other authors who I have read everything they have released, but because they just have one series or world that they have been writing in. So, I can't say if I would be interested in their other works outside of that realm. But they've published enough where I would be confident in anything else they publish.…
View PostMid-Year Reading Wrap Up: Best Books I’ve Read So Far

Instead of going through every book I've read so far for my mid-year reading wrap up, I decided to focus on the ones with the highest ratings. Especially since I've read so many books this year. Each of these books received four stars or above, indicating that they were among the best books I've ever read. I couldn't put any of these books down and found them to be excellent. However, because it is on a.25 increment scale, there is a range within it, with some reaching closer to five stars than others.…
View PostLooking Back at the Books I Read in January 2023

I decided that in 2023, I'm going to do things a little differently here on my blog. Instead of doing a massive summary of everything that happened during the last month, I'm going to break it out into parts if there are multiple things to discuss. So, this one is going to be purely focused on everything that I read during January 2023. These are all the new books I read, not any that I decided to re-read along the way. If I did a review, I'll share the link to those. Otherwise, I will do a quick review of the book or series (with the series getting the mini-review at the end of all the books in the list). Mostly, those will just be a quick blurb about what the book/series was about.…
View PostMy Thoughts on The Ballad of Never After (Once Upon a Broken Heart Trilogy, Book 2) by Stephanie Garber

After finishing the previous book in this trilogy by Stephanie Garber, I knew things were going to get interesting in The Ballad of Never After. Whereas the previous series switched off to a new point of view, this one continues following Evangeline. Before I get into too many details in my opening as I could go on about this book in particular, let me just say I would give The Ballad of Never After a 4.25 out of 5 stars rating. And I'm looking forward to what happens in the final book of the Once Upon a Broken Heart trilogy.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Once Upon a Broken Heart (Once Upon a Broken Heart Trilogy, Book 1) by Stephanie Garber

The Once Upon a Broken Heart trilogy takes place in the same world as Stephanie Garber's Caraval trilogy. This book in particular begins around the beginning of Finale when the Fates have been freed from the Destiny Cards and before the conclusion of the book, then there's a time jump to after the events of Finale. If you haven't read the Caraval series, this book will make references to the conclusion of that book but will leave out the details. So, if you go straight into this trilogy without reading Caraval there is missing context for events as it's not elaborated.…
View PostEverything I Read in 2022

It's been an entire year. I hope everyone had a good year. I thought I would wrap up the year by looking back at every single book I read in 2022. We'll see if 2023 is similar in terms of how many books I read.…
View PostLooking Back at November 2022

This month I decided to take a break from body painting after doing so many looks in October and reacquaint myself with video games since I really didn't play anything in October. The goal was to play a bunch of shorter games, or rather, games I was excited to play that came out in November. And I enjoyed the heck out of it. Most of them I played on Twitch, but I also played Persona 5 Royal offline.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Finale (Caraval, Book 3) by Stephanie Garber

Finale by Stephanie Garber is the final book of the Caraval series, but not the last in this world. It continues in another series that I plan on reading in the future called Once Upon a Broken Heart, which features Jacks. Where the previous books took place during the Caraval and were broken into parts based on the night it took place, this one is broken into four parts: the beginning, the middle, the almost-ending, and the true ending. However, Stephanie Garber warns that not everyone gets a true ending. Which I immediately understood to mean Jacks considering he's going to be in a series of his own. The previous books also only focused on one sister (Scarlett in Caraval and Tella in Legendary), this book switches back and forth between the two.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Legendary (Caraval, Book 2) by Stephanie Garber

This book took me a hot moment to read. Not for a lack of interest but because of a book slump. Or what felt like one. I think I've just read so many books on Kindle that reading a physical book feels off at the moment. So, I ended up getting the book on Kindle and finished it within a few days of doing so. Unlike the previous book review I did for Caraval, I'm just sharing my thoughts after reading Legendary by Stephanie Garber. There are some spoilers, but only things that happened or were revealed by the halfway point in the book. Everything after that I'm not going to reveal, so if you wanted to avoid what happens from that point on (plot twists, etc.) it's not ruined for you.…
View PostLooking Back at October 2022

This last month has been a rollercoaster. It started off with me not being in the mood to read anything new, and that kind of continued all month. Don't get me wrong, I did read some things as you'll see but mostly I just read segments of previously read books. And I didn't play any video games as I focused the month on Twitch with body painting. Well, I did play Dreamlight Valley but it was still less gaming than I normally do overall.…
