Looking Back at the Books I Read in April 2023

I started this month feeling in a book slump since I didn't want to pick up any new books. Then, around halfway through the month, I started devouring books again. Though even with that being said, I still feel like I didn't read a lot this month (compared to others) even when you factor in my re-reads. As one of the new books was only half a book and the re-reads I skipped a lot to get to the dialogue or juicy bits. Sometimes I really don't like being a mood reader. If it doesn't vibe with the moment, I cannot make myself read a book regardless of how good it might be. And I know I have a lot of books that I could read. But every time I go to read them, my brain just says "nope, not today." So, with that being said here's a summary of everything I did manage to read during the month of April and my thoughts regarding those books.…
View PostEverything I Read in 2022

It's been an entire year. I hope everyone had a good year. I thought I would wrap up the year by looking back at every single book I read in 2022. We'll see if 2023 is similar in terms of how many books I read.…

This last month has been a rollercoaster. It started off with me not being in the mood to read anything new, and that kind of continued all month. Don't get me wrong, I did read some things as you'll see but mostly I just read segments of previously read books. And I didn't play any video games as I focused the month on Twitch with body painting. Well, I did play Dreamlight Valley but it was still less gaming than I normally do overall.…
View PostMy Thoughts on The Bonds that Tie Series by J Bree

While I could post a review about every book in The Bonds that Tie series by J Bree, I didn't want to put them down or pause reading to do so. I enjoyed the series that much (spoiler alert). So, I'm just going to combine them all together as I have done with other series that captivated my attention to this extent. I originally discovered this series through TikTok, but only ever heard that they were fantastic without any real details around the plot which I appreciate so I could go into the series without there being spoilers. I love discussing the details of a book as much as the next person especially when it's a good book, but I don't like knowing those details until I've gotten a chance to experience it for myself. Case and point Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard, I still haven't finished that series due to the fact I know everything that's going to happen and it makes me not want to pick up the next book. So, with that being said, I'm not going to be going into heavy details about the books, so there will be no spoilers here while I share my thoughts on this series. …
View PostLooking Back at July 2022

Another month has already come and gone this year. While I'm looking forward to summer being done as I'm not a major fan of the season, I also don't want to rush the end of the year. But I feel good about everything I accomplished this month. For starters, I addressed and fixed my top front teeth which had been making me feel self-conscious about speaking or smiling. I still need to address all the rest of my teeth, but I think this was a major step in the right direction. Plus, there's only so much I can afford at a time. Especially since I maxed out the insurance for what it can cover. So, I'm saving up to do the next set, but I don't know exactly when that's going to happen. Another thing is I did all my major training for the job I started mid-May with multiple presentations that made me super nervous, but I felt really good once they were each done especially when I heard the feedback. I think the next step there is getting customers and actually supporting them, but I'm feeling confident and still looking forward to every day at work. Which is more than I could say about my previous job.…
