Authors Who I Consider Auto-Buy (Read Everything That’s Released)

There aren't many authors who I would read everything they publish. Either because I'm not interested in all of their concepts or because I'm only interested in specific universes. Or they have way too many series, so I pick and choose which one I'm going to read. And then, there are other authors who I have read everything they have released, but because they just have one series or world that they have been writing in. So, I can't say if I would be interested in their other works outside of that realm. But they've published enough where I would be confident in anything else they publish.…
View PostMid-Year Reading Wrap Up: Best Books I’ve Read So Far

Instead of going through every book I've read so far for my mid-year reading wrap up, I decided to focus on the ones with the highest ratings. Especially since I've read so many books this year. Each of these books received four stars or above, indicating that they were among the best books I've ever read. I couldn't put any of these books down and found them to be excellent. However, because it is on a.25 increment scale, there is a range within it, with some reaching closer to five stars than others.…
View PostLooking Back at the Books I Read in April 2023

I started this month feeling in a book slump since I didn't want to pick up any new books. Then, around halfway through the month, I started devouring books again. Though even with that being said, I still feel like I didn't read a lot this month (compared to others) even when you factor in my re-reads. As one of the new books was only half a book and the re-reads I skipped a lot to get to the dialogue or juicy bits. Sometimes I really don't like being a mood reader. If it doesn't vibe with the moment, I cannot make myself read a book regardless of how good it might be. And I know I have a lot of books that I could read. But every time I go to read them, my brain just says "nope, not today." So, with that being said here's a summary of everything I did manage to read during the month of April and my thoughts regarding those books.…
View PostReview of Bloodmarked (The Legendborn Cycle, Book 2) by Tracy Deonn

I had every intention of reading Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn when it was released, but the mood didn't strike. And I kept debating rereading the first book in this series, Legendborn. But in the end, I changed my mind because I knew what had happened in the previous book. And, while I recall comparing it to Shadowhunters, I had forgotten how similar the two series are. But a major piece that this series focuses on outside of fighting demons is racism, grief, and trauma from generations past. Bree has to deal with everything that happened with her ancestors while struggling to deal with the racism within the Legendborn community and the lengths they will go to cover up the truth.…
View PostLooking Back at the Books I Read in January 2023

I decided that in 2023, I'm going to do things a little differently here on my blog. Instead of doing a massive summary of everything that happened during the last month, I'm going to break it out into parts if there are multiple things to discuss. So, this one is going to be purely focused on everything that I read during January 2023. These are all the new books I read, not any that I decided to re-read along the way. If I did a review, I'll share the link to those. Otherwise, I will do a quick review of the book or series (with the series getting the mini-review at the end of all the books in the list). Mostly, those will just be a quick blurb about what the book/series was about.…
View PostTaylor Swift Midnights Book Tag

It's been a hot minute since I did a book tag, and considering Taylor Swift just released a new album called Midnights, I knew several people were probably going to end up making book tags related to it. I really like this one from Star Is All Booked Up, so check out their blog to see the original. But these are the ones I came up with for each of the prompts based on the song titles.…
View PostGive Me a Topic, Get a Recommendation

I have been seeing this come up on my FYP for TikTok for the last week or so. Mainly from Barnes & Noble employees. One of them goes up to their co-workers with slips of paper, and whatever is on that slip the employee has to recommend a book. So, I thought I would do the same thing. Only instead of asking co-workers, I asked those on my Discord server. I might make this a series, so leave your "tropes" or "topics" in the comments and they might get featured in the next one of these.…
View PostEverything I Read in 2021

It's been an entire year. I hope everyone had a good year. I thought I would wrap up the year by looking back at every single book I read in 2021. Honestly, I'm surprised by how many books I read. Not only that but I started reading new genres during the course of this year, though it still is related to fantasy/sci-fi (for the most part). We'll see if 2022 is similar in terms of how many books I read. I have a lot on my reading list still.…
View PostReview of Legendborn (The Legendborn Cycle, Book 1) by Tracy Deonn

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn was a book club book I was supposed to read back in December, and never got around to reading. Then I kept putting it off because I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the expectations for the book I had in my head after hearing a bunch of people saying how amazing it was. Especially after seeing it was similar in some regards to Shadowhunters. Which is one of my favorite universes. But I decided to finally give Legendborn a try after running a poll in a few places on what to read next. The vote was split between two books in the end, so the other one I'll read next. But first, Legendborn.…
View PostGoals for January 2021

Considering how 2020 went, I'm not going to make plans for the year. Instead I'm going to take things month by month, and see how it goes. Mostly as I don't know what the world is going to be like, nor my life for that matter. I've been trying my hardest with keeping busy to prevent too much idle time from getting to me, as I cannot handle being idle. Which results in me working full time from home, streaming at least four times a week for three to five hours each time, moderating other people's streams, and running/moderating multiple discords. On top of other hobbies like reading and art... let's just say I'm always doing something. And I don't plan on changing that in 2021. So, I thought I would share some of my goals at least for January.…
