Wizarding World Brought to Life (aka My Review of Hogwarts Legacy)

I'm not going to be going into the author of this universe, nor is this review in any way based on their views regarding transgender individuals. I got and played this game because Harry Potter was my childhood. It was a massive part of growing up, and while I didn't read the books until the end of high school that does not change the impact this world had on my childhood. I loved the movies and one of the few PC games that my sister and I had that weren't educational was the original Harry Potter game on the PC, where we had to collect jelly beans. I remember getting so frustrated at points during that game. And I always wanted to see Hogwarts brought to life in a way where I could be the main character. That I was in my house, and I got to do the exploring. Which is exactly what we get in Hogwarts Legacy.…
View PostGod of War: Kratos Body Paint

I haven't shared a body paint on my blog in a while, aside from the month in review. And since I won't be doing any of those this year (at least that's the plan), I thought I would start sharing the looks, or at least the ones for which I have something to share alongside them. So, I thought I'd start with this one of Kratos from God of War.…
View PostLooking Back at December 2022

Last month of the year. Where has the time gone? This year has had some of my lowest moments (losing my job) to feeling like a weight has been lifted off my shoulder for the first time in almost five years (getting a new job). Not only that, but I got the majority of my teeth fixed, and I still have some more work to be done of course. But I no longer hate the thought of smiling and having people see my teeth. My habits regarding my teeth are better than they were before, and I intend to make that a priority in 2023 so this never happens again. Because I realize when it came to my health, I was doing the wrong thing. I was letting work dictate when or if I could go see doctors, dentists, etc. As I felt like I could never take time off to do so, but not anymore. So, here's to the next year and making myself a priority. But before the new year can kick off, I wanted to look back at everything that happened in December 2022. From what I read, what I did on stream, what happened in my personal life, and what I did as far as body painting.…
View PostMy Ranking of the Pokémon Games

I've spent the vast majority of my life as a Pokemon fan. Is that to say I'm the best at the games? No. Does that mean I know every type matching off the top of my head? No. Does this mean I know every Pokemon and their basic stats? No. But that doesn't diminish how much time I've spent enjoying the games in this franchise. But, before I get into ranking the Pokemon games, I'd like to state that I have not played all of them. So, this will only be my ranking of the ones I've played in my lifetime. I'm going to divide my rankings into four categories: story, difficulty, replay value, and post-game.…
View PostLooking Back at November 2022

This month I decided to take a break from body painting after doing so many looks in October and reacquaint myself with video games since I really didn't play anything in October. The goal was to play a bunch of shorter games, or rather, games I was excited to play that came out in November. And I enjoyed the heck out of it. Most of them I played on Twitch, but I also played Persona 5 Royal offline.…
View PostPokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Great Crater

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet ends when you go into the Great Crater after the professor with Penny, Arven, and Nemona. Immediately, you get the sense that something is off. Koraidon or Miraidon will retreat and refuse to come out of their Pokéball the second you get into the crater. I won't go into spoilers of what happens plotwise, but I will be sharing how to get through the boss fight. Which happens after you go through the Great Crater and visit four research stations.…
View PostPokémon: Starter Showdown

There have been a lot of Pokémon games over the years and multiple generations with different starter Pokémon for each of the regions. But one thing that came into my head the other day was: which starter Pokémon is the best out of all of them? So I decided to do some digging and look up the base stats of all the starter Pokémon in their final evolution. For the stats, I got them from Bulbapedia. So that's what this showdown is based upon. And now, without further delay, the Pokémon Starter Showdown!…
View PostPokémon Scarlet and Violet: Guide Team Star & Cassiopeia

Team Star is the big group that you face off against in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Unlike groups in past games, they aren't trying to take over the world, kidnap Pokémon, or stop your character in any way. They are a group of rebellious students who have a reputation for bullying students. In truth, they were the ones to stop the bullies but gained a bad reputation for doing so. They have the signature catchphrase of "Hasta la vistar." Your character is recruited by someone going by Cassiopeia to take the groups down by challenging their five bosses. Each of them is located at its own base, and getting through each section is the same.…
View PostPokémon Scarlet and Violet: Guide to the Elite Four and Champions

'Tis time for the Elite Four and Champion battles. The hardest battles in the game usually as it's the final test of strength with your pokémon team. I normally look up who I'm facing and what pokémon they have then focus on that group the entire game to ensure I will be strong enough to beat it.…
View PostPokémon Scarlet and Violet: Guide to the Gyms

One of the three central storylines in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is getting all of your gym badges, so you can face off against the Elite Four. I debated putting them together here, but I ultimately decided they were going to be separate posts. Similar to Pokémon Sword/Shield, you take on gym challenges before you face the actual gym leader. Sometimes these challenges involve facing off against trainers and other times they don't. It just depends on the gym. You also sometimes face off against your rival, Nemona, before or after the gym. So, you have to consider the possibility of running into her. Unlike the gyms themselves, Nemona's fights are scaled based on how many badges you currently have. I wish the gyms scaled like that too but they didn't. So, it's really easy to go in the wrong order without knowing it as the gym doesn't really tell you which order to go in.…
