The Apartment Diaries: Clueless in the Common Area

There are some areas that I have no problems making it look put together and how I want it. And then there’s my common area (dining room, study, and living room) that I just am currently at a loss for how to finish the space. And mainly it’s just I feel like it’s really empty, which I know is not a problem it’s not something I’m not used to. I had maybe a foot of walking room before, so suddenly having space just feels off.

DINING ROOM

I think my main problem is I only have one picture in this area and two dining chairs. They were free so I’m not going to complain and it’s not really like I have a lot of people over to entertain. However, I do feel like I need some more chairs for this table or need something to give it life. And the wall adjacent to the feather painting goes all the way into the living room and it has nothing on it. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I want to do with it.

STUDY AREA

Or at least that’s what I’m calling this middle ground in between the living room and the dining room. I have a book shelf with two empty shelves that isn’t for books as I have all my books in my bedroom. So I don’t really know what to do with the rest of this. It’s kind of for my collectibles and pictures, but I don’t have a lot to fill the rest of the shelves.

I do really love my art wall which has some of my favorite paintings that I’ve ever done. Minus the Life Through Death ones that are above my bed (those are my all time favorite ones), but as my mom puts it no one else is going to be impressed by those so they are in my sanctuary. I also decided after taking these pictures to move my painter inspired end table out next to my easel as it’s a nice surface to have while I’m painting or drawing at the easel.

LIVING ROOM

The art behind the two chairs is not what I’m keeping there, I’m just keeping the frame but like the long wall I have no idea what to actually put in this space. As for the chairs I like the covers being on them as then I don’t have to look at the mismatch floral patterns.

Anyways, that’s every area of the apartment so far minus the bathroom which I’m not going to do a post on. I’ll do an update in a month or when I make more progress.

Love ya,
