This collection got me so curious because you don’t see makeup brands collaborating a lot to create things together. You see them collaborating with makeup artists, bloggers, and YouTubers all the time. But not each other. So seeing Too Faced and Kat Von D do this is so cool. Especially because I normally put them in different categories. Too Faced calls to the girly side with the pink and pretty style, while Kat Von D resigns in the bold and edgy beauty. Which is not anything bad about either brand, it’s just their unique style. So seeing something together from them is so cool!
About the Collection
Now my roommate is the one who technically ordered this but she’s allowing me to borrow it whenever, so I had to go looking up the prices as I don’t know them. The palette with Better Than Sex mascara and Tattoo Liner is $65 and the Better Together Cheek & Lip Makeup Bag Set is $38. You can also get the mascara and liner together in a separate item that costs $20 if you don’t want to get the palettes as well.
Note: though Too Faced was recently bought by Estee Lauder who is not cruelty free, Too Faced remains cruelty free. However, I do know a lot of people do not support cruelty free brands if the parent company is not cruelty free as well so I just wanted to add that note. I personally think it’s find to buy from the cruelty free company under a non-cruelty free parent company as it shows the parent company the direction I would like them to go by voting with my money.
Better Together Ultimate Eye Collection
This is a beautiful interlocking heart eye shadow palette that is held together by magnets. You have Kat Von D shadows on one side and Too Faced shadows on the other. It also comes with Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. Each brand created six brand new shadows for their respective sides of the palette. The interlocking heart was inspired by a BFF heart necklace that I believe almost every girl has gotten or given at some point in their life to their BFF. I know I did, granted ours were guitars that we had split six ways in our group of friends. I love that the palette has a magnetic center so if you only want to take one palette with you at a time when you’re on the go, you can totally do that.
One thing I have to note is there isn’t a good transition shade in either palette though you can make any of the shadows work for this. The shades on the Too Faced side are 0.03 oz while the shades on the Kat Von D side are 0.04 oz.
I love Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner in Tooper (satin black) as it lasts 24-hours and is waterproof, which has 0.019 oz. Plus the brush tip makes it super easy to create a superfine to bold cat eye. And the Better Than Sex mascara has been something in my collection for quite some time. The collagen-fueled formula and hourglass-shaped brush separate, coat, and curl each lash to voluptuous perfection. The one included in the collection as 0.27 oz.
Better Together Cheek & Lip Makeup Bag Set
I love this super cute heart-shaped makeup bag. Each side of the bag are devoted to Kat Von D and Jerrod Blandino (Too Faced) pets. Kat’s side features her cat Piaf, which Jerrod’s side features his dog Clover. With four makeup products inside: two cheek items from Too Faced and two lip items from Kat Von D.
Lip products from Kat Von D are her Studded Kiss in a shimmering Nude called Muse (0.04 oz), and a mini Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in matte oxblood shade called XO (0.10 oz). This pigments last all day and are super comfortable on the lips.
The cheek products from Too Faced are Love Flush Blush in the exclusive shade So Happy Together which is a peony pink color and 0.07 oz. I think it’s a bit too pink for my skin tone/taste but it is still a gorgeous blush. You also get the fan-favorite Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo in Rosy Glow and contains 0.08 oz.
